There's supposedly more dvd extras of unanswered shyt. Which I guess will be #31.

The mother had to die, it made a lot if sense for why ted's story was simp-tastic. Everything that happened after her death was just a shame

Whatever doe :yeashrug:

Who's gonna take over the spot for cac bunch of friends in NYC comedy?

I just watched the first episode last week. :heh:

The difference between the first and last episode is like night and day. The atmosphere and the cast all look different as fukk from where they started.

Think of episode 1 as when the characters are 25 and full of life and the last as the party being over and the cast beginning their flabby boring 30s with the serious shyt.

Which is rather fukked up when you think about it. You mom is dead and gone. Your pops is sitting up telling you this long, drawn out story about how he met her which in actuality is a long ass lover letter to Aunt Robin. :patrice: The mom is just an afterthought. Like I said it was a nice twist, I just think it was just too long of a build over nearly a decade to just have him end up with Robin. The entire series ended up being one long ass replay of the first episode. :heh: The craziest part is how the kids peeped game and were totally cool with it. :mindblown:

For US this "story" was 9 seasons in the making, for the kids it was probably an hour or two.... that they probably have ALREADY HEARD before... over and over again.

It's PERFECTLY in character for Ted, as after the mother died, he would yearn for years and years about still wanting Robin because that was the only other woman that could make him happy. Ted is pretty obvious about his feelings too, so its probably not like the kids didn't catch on to this years ago. The entire series is basically Ted subconsciously asking his kids for permission to chase after Robin one last time

That was the problem. They had their mind set up on an ending at the end of season 2, when they shot the last scene with the kids, back when the show was still struggling in the ratings.

The show became a hit, had 7 more seasons where all of these relationships and character development wasn't factored into the plans. Instead of adapting, they stuck with it, meaning they threw all of the development in the bushes to force this ending.

If we got this after season 3 or season 4, probably wouldn't have been this bad.

Hey when them checks keep rolling in, I can't even blame them for chasing that paper.

Keep getting dem checks, writers

So like I said one long love letter to Robin. :heh: I appreciate the twist. It's romantic in a simpish and sad kinda way. I just don't think it was executed well. I get his feelings for Robin. I get his kids liking her and picking up on it. What doesn't make sense is how kids would respond that well to their deceased mom coming off as a 2nd place booby prize place-filler for their dad's true love..."Aunt" Robin.. I would have been more receptive to the ending if:

1. They hadn't done so much Ted and Robin back and forth. It felt like "Seriously? Again with this? :beli:" due to how they ran it into the ground during the series. If they hadn't been so heavy handed with it then it would have come off better.

2. More time had been devoted to the mother so that she came off as superior or at least equal to Robin. The audience was invested in the mom and spent 8 years waiting to meet her. The kids are invested for obvious reasons. To have the story end up being all about Ted and Robin with mom as a convenient backdrop is a :pacspit: in the face to both parties. fukk I spend 8 years waiting to meet the mom for when it's just gonna be Robin? :what: No kid is gonna be that cool with a situation playing out like that. Like I said if they hadn't been so heavy handed and the kids picked up on subtle clues then that is one thing but mom was undersold way too much while the Robin thing was overplayed way too much to have any kid be that cool with it.

They're all @ssholes except for Lily, who really was the only one trying to keep the group together and realized from the jump that Tracy was "the one" for Ted. Tracy is also on the non-@sshole list.
NaAa I think Lily should be included in the a$$hole group. This bytch leaves Marshall to go paint in Frisco for no good reason, then has Marshall turn down a job as a judge to sell art in Europe :smh:

:mindblown: @ covering a single weekend for your whole last season...only to have the span of a few year covered in a few minutes.

I really loved this show once upon a time, One of the few shows me and my wife have watched from start to finish. The last few years it's been going downhill, but to have the show end with him ending with Robin is bullshyt. They knew it all along too...they had to have because they had the kids at the end and that had to be filmed years ago, which upsets me more because if you knew that was how it was ending why have her marry Barney?? They could have kept her dating Kumar all those years. Nevermind that this nikka Ted spent his whole life trying to find the bytch to marry and rushing into every relationships, then he meets the love of his life and he shacks up with her for years :shaq2:. This dude Ted spent more thought on that 2 minute date with that dentist chick then he did his wedding??

I"m just glad it's over at this point.

I can understand people who hated the whole episode but people on the Internet are up in arms about 2 minutes of a show smh. Even started a petition it's not that serious. If anything the finale showed the shyt like death and divorce happen.

last 2 seasons or so was like a caricature...fart jokes and running regular gags into the ground. the show ended the only way it really could have ended...

if the mother lived, they would have had to dedicated more time to her...

cant say i was satisfied with how they glossed over certain things but i still liked it to a degree. it was a below average show to begin with :manny:

those last 2 minutes negated everything that happened in season 9.

why have a whole season based on the wedding then in the last ep show them divorced, barney back to his old ways and ted and robin back together

no replay value for me now

the show should really be called how i met your stepmother

I agree with you on the season, the problem is the show only had 8 seasons of material planned so I kind of wish CBS let them die last year like the creators wanted.
