Pretty much this.
Its easy to get people behind anything bigoted, much easier than it is to get them behind something positive. He mixes truths with nonsense to create a feel good-black power-screw white people euphoria certain niqqas cant resist.
Until he opens his talking points up to scrutiny ill have no respect for his positions.
collective black economics.... helps with "I would lean more toward (lack of) education and literacy,"
I like him, he's on point for the most part, but I would disagree that business is at the core of black problems, I would lean more toward (lack of) education and literacy, but overall a agree with him
we need both.
education does us no good without the money and resources to make shyt happen for ourselves. and money does us no good without the knowledge of knowing how to strategically spend and invest.
but i also think we need to make a distinction between a traditional western education, and REAL education. if we're talking about teaching the babies how the world really works, and how to think and live the right way, then im in full agreement. but if we're talking about going to traditional k-12 schools, then going to a university, and then possibly graduate school, etc., then i would say thats not a formula that can work for everyone. plus in general, western educations tend to be a little fugazi.
I don't really buy any of the education arguments anymore...education has never been cheaper in human history than it is now. People can literally self train for anything online, at the library, etc. Nobody is "stuck" in unskilled positions that is not too lazy to want to better themselves. Some may have to accept such positions temporarily given economic conditions, but nobody with a will to get ahead has to remain in such positions indefinitely. The excuses need to stop.
Education doesn't fix every problem in the world. Also it is just one of our many issues.
A focus on business is THE KEY as Claud and others have said. The reason for this should be obvious - People on a higher social economic ladder tend to get better educations and tend to be influenced by different cultural influences. They tend to deal with less abuse and less mental trauma growing up as well.
A focus on random schools, the government, and a simplistic view of the flaws in our education system - only leads to a few more making it. IF a few nikkas from Detroit or Flint go off and gain educations and become very successful - What does that matter when their money will not be reinvested - and their knowledge will not be spread and transferred to the youth?
A black focus on group economics is really the main thing we need to focus on.... Not being financially unified is the reason we are usually left in the dust. It's the reason why as more and more of us gain college education the conditions of the masses do not improve.
actually it does fix just about every problem in the world
people in the higher social economic ladder got there because of higher education
why would a "few nikkas from Detroit or Flint" go off to and gain educations, who is suggesting that? im saying black people in detroit and Flint need to invest in schools and universities, so people dont have to go anywhere, and also we need to essentially eliminate the public education system and have have black educators open up their own schools under a charter and voucher system
not being educated is what has left black people in the dust, black people have fundamental problems at the K-12 level, that is where the focus needs to be
and there is no country or community that has thrived without putting education first, education is what gives you the knowledge in the first place to open up a business
I don't think so, I think the biggest resource is the human mind and it's the only real one you need, and by educating the mind you are creating and expanding your resources, so I would strongly disagree that we need resources to make things happen, education is the only real resource you need
And when I say education I mean first reading and writing, that is the biggest weakness black people have and then after that depending on a person's interest they can go toward business was or toward graduate school and such or both
I'm not sure what you mean by western education but no people can move forward in terms of science and technology until first going into western education, after that you can integrate western education into a specific culture
ill keep it short and say public education is used as a tool to train civilians from a young age how to think and act. the education they provide as a supplement to that training is meant specifically to teach children WHAT to think and not HOW to think--two very different modes of thought.
reading and writing are obviously valuable. math and science are also valuable subjects because they're pretty objective. but the rest of the subjects taught in school, especially history, are heavily watered-down, distorted, and mostly useless. that's why so many people graduate high school but still dont know shyt.
like the brotha said prior, my students could get a better education with a strategic curriculum of youtube videos than they can in some public schools, and probably in half the time.
i mean really think about it. 7 hours of "education" a day, 5 days a week, from ages 6-18? and what have been the results? not impressive if you ask me.
no, they got there by generational wealth
honestly, drake is more influential. I (We) were just in talks with this lady who is all about this, and she already has established community centers n shyt.... She was talking about how tough it is.
