Why did you cancel? What changed your mind? I had the chance to live and study in Africa and it gave me a connection to the land the people there that I wouldn't have had if I didn't go and experience that. At the moment I don't have the influence or the power to effect things on a bigger scale beyond my own circumstances, which is why I am asked the question to to remind people that these issues should be taken more seriously outside of intellectual debate. As it stands, there is no NATIONAL agenda put forth by anyone, that is being worked on by anyone at the moment for people to take a hold of and start building towards. And I feel as though the conversations we are having right now we've been having before many of us got here.
well...

I'll address ur two biggest points.

1) I changed my mind on Africa because i live in (and came back to) Detroit... I escaped a situation, but being sort of a ignorant hood kid........ BUT w a high as fukk IQ that got academic scholarships. i went to a big U at 16, then went to the military, traveled the world, read books, became afrocentric............

I look back and my nikkas are all in jail. I even used my military bonus to help 1 out. Even my own lil bro got lock and hes a nice sweet goody kid, unlike my friends who were grimy nikkas. My old hood stays on the news. and things are like this all over the US. The media paints blacks as WSHH does. So I'm like fukk all this pan african shyt I'm focused on.... my closest people r still on it - BUT I chose to opt out. We have issues here and out of ALL people in the African Diaspora - I feel that we are the light and we are the ones that will make the most change and will help out the rest of the diaspora...... Not Africans and not South Americans.

2) People have had convos, but people have also done things... before 1960.. communities all over the US would pop up but CAC would burn or shut them down.... after all that fukkery we lost hope and lost some of our fight....... We gained some back in the 50's w revolutionary and civil rights movements.......but we allowed the begging integration obsessed civil rights bunch to control the conversation ==== meanwhile, the pro black empowerment groups were being killed and manipulated by the Gov. Our women replaced men with gov assistance, our man replaced dignity w crime and ignorace.......and now were are doing to job for CAC. NTM old people dropped the ball in the 60 n 70s'.

We don't need 1 national plan. We need millions to do there part. If there were 8 million black men like u - who only help 6 kids over time... that's eventually 48 million proud black kids n so on.

Just as I asked Blackking, I will ask you the same thing. What is your plan For Africans/African Americans and what are you doing to implement it?

the plan is education and capitalism, i participate in both things and help other people that want to participate in those things

It's interesting to see how you came to your decision to solely focus on the people in your city. It's one that I don't disagree with. I have a similar story to yours besides being in the military. But I definitely see where you're coming from.

As for your second point. I have to agree and disagree. We also had a hand in the downfall of our leaders and movements. if it wasn't for our help in the process, "the man" wouldn't have achieved what he did. The people of the day didn't want to listen to Marcus Garvey when he was preaching about economic and social independence. The people didn't want to listen to Malcolm X's views either. MLK at the end of his life was just beginning to understand what malcolm was saying and was beginning to meet Malcolm in the middle. Somewhere in between all of that, blacks have been informants, agents, and have aided in the downfall of many of our movements. But in the end, we can't blame the white man for leaving our communities and businesses behind to integrate with whites. That is something we chose to do and we have paid the price for it ever since. We need a plan that highlights us gaining political, economic, and social power as a collective. Without a plan, there is no direction and that is what hurt us in the past. Everyone having a different plan and not coming together, only to be snuffed out.

What are the specifics? Are you apart of a think tank, organization etc? Or do you have your own organization?

Business is capitalism, I support and engage in business, outside of my 9 to 5

And I think this whole trend of trying to make capitalism a dirty word will backfire on the black community

Do you realize how vague of an answer that is? You really didn't give any specifics at all as you just saying you support education and capitalism. You can list organizations, projects, etc without giving your identity away. I respect your right to privacy, but the answers you gave were vague in nature and didn't really explain what you're involved in.

With education I tutor at a school, with business I have my own business and work with other people that have their business to develop our individual business

Besides that I'm not part of any organization, unless you count alumni type stuff, I'm not really sure what specificity you are asking for, maybe you should be more specific in your question

I really don't like what's going on in this thread.

Why are we in here arguing semantics?
It's how things like this go.

even me and my best friend argued over this shyt in life when in the end, we basically agree.

Love all this right here, except for turning your back on Pan Africanism

the way I see it, blacks in the western world are too far gone. You've battling a fight against the media that is very very very strong. It's a hard task to deprogram a brainwashe people

Africa/ South America are victims of the same psychological warfare and far gone in some parts. But due to their scarce access to media outlets, it's easier to connect to their psyche.

We're definitely the key, us blacks in the western world. But the locks remain in Mother Africa and South America

To conclude, I will turn my black on no black peoples. One must channel all avenues

Takes nothing away from a Great Post!
