I'm glad Diamond D got to be on an album that sold 14 milli and stay paid
I know this, which is why i said it's a classic off impact. It's singles were bonofide classics and when you think of that year, that's one of the big moments you'll remember. However, let's not pretend that the album possesses non singles on the level of AINT NO FUN,tha shiznit,LADI DADI,ambitionz az a ridah,NO MORE PAIN,CAN'T C ME,wonder why they call you bytch,PICTURE ME ROLLIN,life goes on,TAKEOVER,never change,RENAGADE,hola hovito,STILLMATIC INTRO,ether,2ND CHILDHOOD,rewind,DESTROY & REBUILD,blood hound,PATIENTLY WAITING,what's up gangsta, ETC. I REST MY CASE,if you still dont get it,then you're just lying to yourselfThat's your own personal observation of the album though. That speaks nothing of what other people outside of you and your circle discussed. I mean, one of Lauryn's most praised verses is from a song that wasn't a single ("Zealots"). There's also the fact that three songs being memorable from any album is quite a feat whether they were singles or not.
I remember The Score as being inescapable in '96. "Killin' Em Softly", "Ready or Not" and "Fugee-La" were everywhere. Even though it sampled some huge Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop classics, the overall sound was underground. It was like an underground Hip Hop album that went Pop. For an album as massively successful as The Score, the production on the album wasn't polished or glossy. It's definitely a classic album.

I agree and i'm not debating that. The score's single's run was one of the best ever. However it's full of filler and forgettable songs besides those. AND YES I AM downplaying the album cause it aint shyt. I salute the classic singles and the record sales, however the album aint shyt. What I'm getting at is that it seems like you're downplaying the album. Of course it may not contain non-single songs as big as a "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" or "Ain't No Fun", which were album cuts that actually felt like singles even to the point of making it to radio playlists. A lot of those songs other songs you listed though aren't on that status. The point is that it does have songs, even if they are singles that are just as huge. There's classic albums (including some of the ones you named) that don't even contain singles that are as memorable as the ones from The Score.
- Stillmatic (Ether, You're Da Man, intro, etc.)
- Cold Vein (Pigeon, A-B-Boys Alpha, Stress Rap)
etc. etc.
Good Kid mAAd City is gonna be one of these too. Money Trees, Art of Peer Pressure, Good Kid, Maad City, Dying of Thirst are all great. I feel like Money Trees is already more talked about then Swinmming Pools.
OAN - how can anyone say that Wyclef is wack when EVERYONE had the Carnival and effed with it? Even the most hardened street n!ggas had that album somewhere...hidden. Clef was very capable on the mic.
