In a way he is worse than Kid Rock, seems like at the very earliest stages of his existence Kid Rock was into hip hop culture. He was spinning records and all.

Post on the other hand is from a wealthy family and used rap as a get rich quick scheme. Seem like he has a much higher ceiling as a pop artist bc of it

You do realize Kid Rock came from a wealthy family as well

did not know that.

His dad was a wealthy conservative, top of his class from MSU's business school, owned a number of auto dealerships and was the chairman of the Detroit Auto Show. Kid Rock grew up on a huge property in a 95% white suburb on the outskirts of Detroit, but his parents also bought multiple vacation homes in Florida. He bought a lot of the equipment to get Kid Rock started when he was a young teen and helped manage Kid Rock's career for some time. You can see he likely got a lot of his right-wing political beliefs from his dad.

All that head start in life, just to write lyrics like

Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy
Diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the boogie
Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy
Diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the boogie
Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy
Diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the boogie
Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy
Diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the boogie
My name is Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid

He ain't never switched. He fukking loves and respects the culture. And he make dope ass fukking music. fukk Post Malone that cac dont even respect himself how he going to respect the game.

On Post Malone, I already TOLD y'all since way back that he was a fraud and disrespectful to hip hop. There were a ton of warning signs and he was fake as fukk from the beginning. Can't believe anyone was fooled by that bullshyt.

9 years ago in 2015:
Plant or not, this stuff is seriously :scust:.

I'm not surprised that trash like this gets plays on pop stations, but I'm legit embarrassed for the Coli that it has supporters here.

2016

I can't believe there were fools on here caping for this guy. He was awful. :mjlol:

that shyt was awful and people who can't discriminate against industry-planted trash need to be exposed and shamed.

2018:

If SNL made a skit about a talentless White singer awkwardly trying to culture vulture off of hip hop, how would you be able to distinguish him from Post Malone?

Seriously though, Post Malone is the epitome of all the corporate shyt some of ya'all have let the industry sell you for the last 20 years. It had to get here sooner or later.

Remember the way he used to talk about hip hop?

And some of ya'all co-sign letting this fool be a face in hip-hop? :mindblown:

If SNL made a skit about a talentless White singer awkwardly trying to culture vulture off of hip hop, how would you be able to distinguish him from Post Malone?

2019:

Post Malone is a fukking parent-sponsored plant who disrespects rap and who sounds like dog vomit. It's a fukking joke that anyone in the industry gave him even two seconds of fame rather than tossing to the curb immediately.

Post Malone is a fukking worthless industry plant and I take to task anyone who says anything positive about him whatsoever.

2021:

You're on point here. Performing music respectfully isn't a problem. Purposely mimicking an image in order to profit off of it and then disrespecting the people who you stole the image from is some major fukking bullshyt.

Post Malone and Tom MacDonald come to mind immediately. Probably Lil' dikky too.

2022:
They took a guy with no particular talent, put him in a genre where he had no real experience, manufactured his image and put a ton of industry people around him to make him look "in", then gave him all the lyrics, music and hot beats that he could just autotune to, and then marketed the fukk out of it.

If industry plant means anything, he is it.

2023, in response to @itsyoung!!

"White Iverson" was done when Post Malone was just 19. Until then he was fukking around with heavy metal and alt rock. This was Post Malone exactly 10 years ago:

In the 2 years between that video and this one, he suddenly picked up cornrows, grills, speaks in black slang, pretends to live a "hip" lifestyle, and is getting help in the business from all sorts of established professionals. But look at his fukking dancing - does this look like someone who has spent even 6 months of his life engaged in black music? He moves around like a guy who took 6 days of lessons to figure out how to act in the video.

How the fukk is that authentic to have as his signature song just a year after he was doing rock with his ass hanging out of his jean shorts?

I like plenty of genres too, but anyone who thinks Post Malone is dedicated to hip hop and ain't just doing this shyt to make money is fooling themselves. His songs are just pop shyt with handlers giving him an hip hop image and production.

Been telling y'all about this shyt for a decade, there has never been a more obvious play.

Remember what he looked like before he turned culture vulture?

Hell, even after he threw on the tats and the grill and the autotune, you could still see it. Turn the sound off and watch his actual moves, it's the same awkward-ass bad copying that sccit does in his videos.

Y'all got to stop saying he was embraced by the "community", I never met a black Post Malone fan in my life. He was "embraced" by black artists on major labels, who were incentivized through industry politics to work with him.

On the other hand.....

He made good music. Good music will give u a pass. He definitely Kid Rock tho

@Tony D'Amato saying that and @alpo dapping it was the least surprising aspect of this thread.
