A blue eyed, mixed person with his white supremacy benefitted white mother regurgitating sentiments by Black activists should not be treated like the second coming of Malcolm X. The fact that Black women are buying into his pandering when he needs them to support his career is pathetic. We do not need a half white savior when white people have always said without them we are nothing.
Where's the full savior then?

I liked the speech and I liked that he said it on platform that reached people. It's national news. The Justin Timberlake shyt is taking away from it some.

He put black men on the spot for their foolish consumerism.

What you're saying is exactly how I and others interpreted it. If that wasn't your intention then spend some time making your points clear and concise so nothing is lost in translation. And you're missing the point. My reply to you wasn't about whether male celebs have more influence than the everyday person (That's obvious); my beef with you was making it seem as though their voice matters more than the everyday black male (Men you are more than likely to come in contact with. Also a point that you haven't addressed). And influence in and of itself can't be measured so it's a moot point.

And by your logic, the average black woman is a carbon copy of the women on LSA because they make disparaging remarks towards black men. But we both know that NOT to be true since we have no proof that everyone on said platforms are black and real life experiences say otherwise.

There is nothing unclear about what I said. I use common everyday words, that anyone with a 9th grade reading level understands. I can't help you with reading comprehension, the strawmans you set up, or the bruise of ego you feel from being openly challenged.

The voice of a celeb does matter more because of the reach and cultural influence they wield. The social/political power of one male celeb, and the social power of one average Joe aren't even close. So yes, it matters that our public figures use their platform to do what Jesse does, and not what Black male celebs generally do.

(and ya, I'd say forums like these are absolutely microcosms of the opinions and gender dynamics of the Black community: fukked.)

It's not a diss, it's the truth.:yeshrug: & Black men with platforms should be shamed & embarrassed.Jesse dragged most of those black male celebrities in that crowd and they didn't even know it. :pachaha:Clueless, ignorant idiots who will remain clueless, ignorant idiots & probably went out to spend their money on drugs, "foreign hoes," & labels after that show was over.

I think it came from the sense of relief that FINALLY a Black male with a platform, in no uncertain terms, said what many of his peers refuse to say.

Women are comparing what Jesse Williams did, to what Black male celebs won't do.

Cherishing Black women, in a way that isn't sexual or exploitative, and offering a promise to do better.

It's just not a regular thing, and Black women are disgusted by that fact.
this why i dont be on that "sista melanin queen love all me goddesses" bs
even though plenty of known black men regularly stick up for black women and marry black women apparently the shyt just dont exist.
like this site for example. apparently no one likes black women but theres multiple large threads of black women appreciation while black men get a 30 page thread about how we're cowards.

i love and appreciate the women in my family and life because i know them and they are rational human beings, but you are never going to be able to fulfill a woman's attention if she does not want you

Why the disrespect? You over here hurling insults and ad hominems and I'm just trying to have a convo. Looks like you caught feelings babygirl. I don't have an ego and I've been chillin so far which is why I've been dapping and repping you.

Again, no one is saying that Celebs aren't on some level more influential than the average joe but their voice isn't more important than the next persons. Being famous doesn't automatically equal influence. If that were the case, shyt would've been changed for black people a long time ago. And in terms of what Jesse said, his words aren't going to have any impact on any mass level. Know why? Cuz better men and women have said the same shyt and nothing has changed. It's just more magnified in this age of social media. A few weeks from now you and others are gonna be doing the same shyt you been doing, and this speech will be an afterthought.

And if you think forums like these are representative of everyday black people, then you need to log the fukk off and detox yourself.

Nah hun, it has everything to do with it.

These women are saying it's shameful that a man with a white mama cherishes Black women, while a legion of men with Black mamas are ever ready to malign Black women (like their own mothers).

They aren't saying that his Black father didn't play a role in developing his political conscience.
:patrice:this would be unintentional ETHER for black women and black mothers though

Why don't we get off of our own Black assess and save ourselves? I don't need direct cultural whiteness that have a vested interest in my oppressors' well being to help set me free.

This the shyt that has me :dwillhuh:

So white women know how to raise black men to appreciate black women more than black women themselves ?:mjlol:Sounds like more of an indictment on black women than anybody else.

I guess white women are really the better choice for black men since they help us to appreciate our blackness more than a black woman can :leon:

Now we can pawg and still be pro-black :wow:

Only a pawg goddess and a black man can raise such a great black man, amiright?

Gawd bless the pawg who raised the best black man alive. :blessed:. Add him to the list with obama, another black man black women consider infallible.
