How did a powerful black empowerment speech turn into a diss towards black men

:yeshrug:Who supposed to be his fans? White people? Whatever his fanbase is, I don't give a fukk. The date of that was 6/26, right on the heels of Jesse's speech on race relationships.
Nothing in that speech pandered specifically to black female fans of his works, so much as it addressed the feelings of ALL black people. If someone wanted to use something Jesse said
to shore up that flimsy, bytchmade jab the tweeter in OP did, there are probably a lot of other examples to use.

Taking a pro-black speech and making it into a weapon in the "respect for your sistas" argument is the issue. Instead of using the speech to discuss, it is being used to chide folks.
THATS the shyt that always happens, and people begin to forget the point of the speech in the first place.

You're one of those types like Jesse's father that like to be extra Shaka Zulu to prove your "pro Blackness" in the face of your de facto support of white supremacy, aren't you? Jesse's mother is white woman benefitting from our oppression and his shout outs to Black women are pandering in my opinion. I don't need people with white shadows that they empathize with and have loyalty to leading my poor helpless Negro ass to the promise land.

Thanks @ODOT META for the neg rep...not a white man, just a proud Black woman who does not need white help in any form. Go get more batteries and think about Jessie.

“There’s simply no movement, there’s not even a semblance of a movement without black women and black members of the LGBT community,”Williams said. “We as men, in particular black men, are constantly supported, nurtured, forgiven, apologized for, led, followed and coddled by black women and they get very little in return.”

Just seems like a lot of people want to "win" whatever argument they're engaged in.

Too many Black men and women aren't really that interested in understanding each other and taking the necessary steps to improve things

Breh many of us are. But you have bitter folks on both sides who spew hate. You also have a small minority that are really loud and who scream and spew hate all over the internet.

So lipstick alley, bossip, Mediafakeout, TLR and other websites take advantage of this ignorance.

Look how Mediafakeout does shyt just to get hits. Fake sources and saying shyt like guess who likes to swirl or don't like black women or men. shyt like this causes a feeding frenzy with the minority of meat heads who are bitter and blame all their issues on the opposite sex.

The internet is truly a playground for the mentally ill.

White folk win again.
Even in an empowerment speech that at its heart and soul is meant to empower a race the only thing talked about are his light skinned/mixedness and a division of black women v men.
Muthafukkas don't wanna advanced. They're scared. They're happy where they are. They wouldn't know what to do if they had the true freedom Jesse was talking about. Still slave mentality and thats what this deep systematic racism is. Even on something as simple as uplifting and advancing eachother as a race and as a people, can't be done cause of ignorance and crab in the barrel mentality that folk can't realize they're operating under, thus not being able to break themselves from it.
Sad

The connections people can make out of thin air are crazy. I saw a lot of tweets like the one below after the Kyrie White Party Yacht video shouting out Dirk. Most married black NBA players are married to black women but they skip over all those proud black men with black families they are supporting financially to shout out Dirk.:mindblown: One woman even tagged the pic of Dirk and his wife as #staywoke:dead:

I have no problem with Black women getting big money from others...unlike a Zoe Saldana or mixed Halle Berry that went dumpster diving to give white men their money.

FYI, Dirk's wife is mixed, her mother is Kenyan and father is Swedish. They had two weddings, the first in Kenya which means she has a great deal of respect for her African heritage.

I think it came from the sense of relief that FINALLY a Black male with a platform, in no uncertain terms, said what many of his peers refuse to say.

Women are comparing what Jesse Williams did, to what Black male celebs won't do.

Cherishing Black women, in a way that isn't sexual or exploitative, and offering a promise to do better.

It's just not a regular thing, and Black women are disgusted by that fact.
What you're saying is the only voice that matters to yall are black male celebs and not everyday Brothers? Gotcha! I hear you loud and clear. You don't gotta quote me with a response.

:rocky:First, I don't even consider myself pro black. I never claimed to be (I don't even know the parameters, hence me not claiming.)

Second, whatever your opinion on Jesse, the fact is that quote you posted is from may 16. It has nothing to do with the speech that sparked this thread. Iunno, I dont wanna argue about this.

I'm working on a template for polos for my clothing line. This topic bores me.

Oh trust me I know. But there's definitely room for improvement

The point of the quote is to show pandering. You are so busy and so bored, yet continue to quote me ......

That's why most of them aren't worth engaging. It's all stupid theatrics.

:dahell:Mothafukka, you quoted me. I like to extend the courtesy of responding instead of ignoring posters. NOW I will ignore posts in this thread, but I wanted to
show that even if I didn't care about the topic anymore, that I wasn't a ignorant pos that would actively ignore folks. Cut it out.
