Who supposed to be his fans? White people? Whatever his fanbase is, I don't give a fukk. The date of that was 6/26, right on the heels of Jesse's speech on race relationships. If Jesse didn't rely on his Black female fan base for his career, I wouldn't side eye his pandering to Black women so much. It's practically a given that people know that some Black women will lavish any praise given to them and help further their careers...Kendrick Lamar p, Timberfake, etc, etc, He might be as genuine and nice as could be, but I've seen the "Black women are the greatest bait and switch" show before.
Nothing in that speech pandered specifically to black female fans of his works, so much as it addressed the feelings of ALL black people. If someone wanted to use something Jesse said
to shore up that flimsy, bytchmade jab the tweeter in OP did, there are probably a lot of other examples to use.
Taking a pro-black speech and making it into a weapon in the "respect for your sistas" argument is the issue. Instead of using the speech to discuss, it is being used to chide folks.
THATS the shyt that always happens, and people begin to forget the point of the speech in the first place.
