What history are you referring to?
Because from my own American history text book: the chattel slavery of African people in the West, the starvation of the Irish and the Indian, the colonial plunder and rape of Africa, the genocide of the indigenous people of the West, the exploitation of Middle and East Asia, the mass genocide of Jewish people and West Africans, the continued exploitation of the entire global South, and the poisoning of the Earth all happened at the behest of capitalism.

That's not it at all.
In communism the people of the "state" have direct democratic control of the government, and the decision of the state happen due to mass involvement by the masses.
The government doesn't "own" the property under communism.

The definition of socialism has not changed - your understanding is simply misguided.

So you're just making up a strawman, huh?
I think you're out of your depth here Mowgli, we'll make a thread about grown men wrestling just for you.

Not quite it - and there were far more doctors and a much higher lifespan under socialism - specifically Cuba and in the USSR versus West Germany.

Now, I'm sure you're bright enough to know that Russia is not communist, is not socialist, and is currently a capitalist state, replete with the corruption

They were both lol.
I'm beyond your understanding on the subject. Don't respond to me with emotions. Female trait. You want to be a banks bytch. Ur done.

The only thing liberals take serious are gay rights and female frailty.

Therefore they would take you very serious right now. Go back to your ktl echo chamber where it's safe:camby:

For instance back in the 60s-80s when you had the initial public run of African history coming out of black scholars in academia. There was a heavy focus on kingdoms and royalty. Around the same time you had a heavy presence of African American Communist/Socialist commentators in the US who analysed history through a (Hegel, Marx, Engels, Lenin, Mao) paradigm in which the idea of "royalty" was deemed archaic(via it's association with feudalism) and a precursor to the capitalist ideals/forces they were against.

Example:
These types view human history through the prism of material "class struggle" via a straight line of distinct transitional stages of development.

    • Primitive communism: as in co-operative tribal societies.
    • Slave society: a development of tribal to city-state; aristocracy is born.
    • Feudalism: aristocrats are the ruling class; merchants evolve into capitalists.
    • Capitalism: capitalists are the ruling class, who create and employ the proletariat.
    • -----------overthrow of capitalism by a socialist proletariat revolution-------------
    • Socialism: working class effectively owning the means of production and the means of their livelihood so that the social surplus accrues to the working class and society as a whole.
    • Communism: common ownership of the means of production with free access to the articles of consumption and is classless and stateless, predicated upon a superabundance of material wealth, which is postulated to arise from advances in production technology

(Thus implying the end of the exploitation of labour.)

You see these types today in places like...
  • Glen ford - (black agenda report)
  • Yvette Carnell - (breaking brown)
  • Antonio moore - (tonetalks)
  • Dr. Cornel West
  • Jared A. Ball - (imixwhatIlike) <--though he seems to lean heavy towards panafricanism also.
  • etc etc
I.E.If your coming from a socialist paradigm I'd say.... "I don't agree but I see why you say it's oppressive:ehh:"

Anybody who believes theres a quick solution that can fix a 400 year plus problem and the effects of it is a fool. Folks dont wanna hear the truth though.

Weren't early African socieities communalist and egalitarian?

I think Africans should explore this more than socialism and communism. It's clearly African and it worked.

I think @Get These Nets posted an excerpt from a book that talked about the igbo people pre-colonialism. It was basically about how they treated education. A learned person was revered because it was their job to teach everyone else how to learn and implement a skill they mastered. That type of thinking has been lost or skewed it seems.

You have a myopic childlike view of the world. You seem to lack the capacity to understand the reality or gravity of the worlds problems, so it’s impossible for you to offer solutions. You seem like a ill adjusted lame that probably wet the bed until you were a teenager:francis:

take from that what you will :ehh:

My take is me and my group of hard working brehs will be on the other side while you have below zero networth.:umad:

A mix economy is what am for. A bit of capitalism and socialism.....but neither one is an answer to our economic issues.
