Communism is a post-scarcity system of economics that redistributes wealth that was gained through exploitation of the proletariat class, it’s reparations on a class scale. The government doesnt own your property, because under a truly communistic society, there is no government, ‘ownership’, or property.

Can someone explain to me how socialism/communism is anti-black? Reparations is literally wealth distribution from the oppressors to the oppressed. The federal government is the largest employers of ADOS in this country and is the backbone of the black middle class. I don’t understand why people would be against it if they are black. Black leaders like malcolm z and mlk were communists. Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere etc.

Reparations is not wealth distribution. It's money owed for services provided. If i cut your grass, and you owe me $30. paying me what you owe isn't wealth distribution. it's simple capitalism, money for goods and /or services. I hate when people treat reparations like it's some sort of charity to attone for past sins. it's just a simple debt. We built industries,infrasture. You owe us money for it. period

America already is socialist. We just don't call it that for some reason. The fact we have infrastructure that's made by the government and not private industry makes it so. In addition to the litany of (shytty) social services.

However, black people should ALWAYS be wary of totally government control especially in the west. I'm left-leaning, but total command economy, your works belonging to the state...nah breh. Black people already did the whole "not owning the fruits of their labor" thing. On top of that, I don't see how we should fully commit to a state that has never fully committed to us. I'm American and I don't intend on leaving America. Socialist democracy is a step in the right path. Ultimately we need to design something that works for this time. I know it can’t be the form of capitalism we have now. This shyt is going to end up making this planet inhospitable for humans.

Because while Capitalism is a great engine of growth, it has probably caused more harm than any other ideology. Slavery, mass genocide. Colonialism etc.

Yeah all these things existed before capitalism, but not on a scale that the efficiencies of the free market was able to create.

This is operating from a framework that the government or body that "redistributes" that wealth won't still remain in power. That's a fukking pipe dream. Someone has to ensure the passage of power and wealth. If its not the government, its the military, if its not the military its the police, if not the police then its violent ideologues.

No social system has ever changed without violence. And no government system or lack there of has no crime/punishment infrastructure. A communistic society STILL has to have arbiters of justice or a new form of exploitation would occur. Weather it be financial, labor, gender or racially based or otherwise.

I feel like some of ya'll passed high school Civics/Government class and left it at that. There's no critical thinking in this post. It also doesn't address the concept of "common ownership" either. Who decides who owns what? Everyone can't own equally because they didn't put in equally. How is it fair that a nuclear physicist has the same rights to his labor as the janitor? That makes no sense in practice.

No matter what there will be inequality. The best we can do is mitigate the life/death type of inequality and have a system of haves and have-lesses. But make no mistake, there is NO such thing as a totally equal society where ALL have ownership.

I think the problem with the OP's logic is assuming that all blacks belong to the same economic class...blacks,whites, asians...whatever of middle and upper class income levels are not looking to downgrade their status or lifestyles due to their perceived social status in favor of communism (or socialism for that matter...myself included).
