These lil nikkas are rapping or reporting about what they see seems like a form of snitching to me :manny: but they are getting called "real" for it.

:rudy:Kobe talked about what he saw but he wasn't called "real"

:rudy:Sammy the Bull talked about what he saw but he wasn't called "real"

:ohhh::ohhh::ohhh: see what u did there..like

how face is considered one of the realest rappers to do it..

then he turns around n get on 3way with ti ...issuing out every bit of dirt he had on flip...kuz flip didnt sign with def jam...:troll:

because everybody wanna act like an adult now, but ironically- they're the same people who were clowning gangsta rappers back then, and looked at most of em as "backpack rappers", "elitists", etc..

only if you were 4yrs old then, would you not know how much people were trying to stop the promotion of gangsta rap back then.. people just have conveinant memories..

fukk tipper gore :pacspit:

i remember when sagging your pants was something that could get you detention or even suspended.

but....somehow at the Boom of the Boy Band/Pop princess era...we had a 17 year old Lil Wayne who hails from a city with one of the highest murder rates..and a state that has the highest incarceration rate on google earf nas.

but nobody wanna remember all that...it was just a good time cause the South was doing it big.

The same reason people cry all day about "the death of gangsta rap" or whine about how "soft" the game is and wax poetic about how gangsta the game was back in the day...then turn into Deloris Tucker when rappers actually do some gangsta shyt...selective sanctimony...there's no real moral or rhetorical consistency, everything is relative depending on who's involved... :manny: ...it is what it is

Gangsta rap can stay in the bushes:skip:

thats why i said that we've come back around full circle to people trying to hide reality, once again.

There is a difference between speaking on your environment and glorifying ignorance.

Melle Mel's The Message, KRS Sound of da Police, etc werent rapping bout rainbows and butterflies. Violence aint nothin new to hip-hop but there was always a moral compass that came along with it.

Whats going on in the Chi is sad...ya'll embrace it but then shyt on a brother like Lupe when he speaks up against it.

Thats some ass backwards shyt

:what: where the hell you getting this "yall" stuff from? i agreed with lupe. just because im not going to the other end of the spectrum to side with you, doesnt mean that im on the complete opposite end.

by your logic, then half(if not most) of the stuff you prop up on here is glorifying ignorance as well.

these are young wild dudes thats fresh off the streets and living in one of the worst parts of the country. you think a "the message" type record is even in their minds at this point? cmon man.

"Back then" is being generous...nikkas wuz on that shyt just a few months ago...talkin bout "we wuz kids then,we grown now"...sum of y'all had a helluva growth spurt in the last few months.
oh. trust me.. i know.. being from the generation I was speaking about, I see the hypocrisy all the time..

there was way worse shyt from that era.. matter of fact, some of the same cats complaining about Chief Keef- are the same ones welcoming Chi Ali home from a 2nd-degree murder charge..

alot of people just dismissed Wayne, and CMR as jokes.. which is cool.. i don't get the investment they have in hating on Chief Keef.. cats been on here dedicating literally hours of their life posting about a rapper the really don't even care for.. shyt is borderline pathetic..

The artists that I "prop up" on here are artists like Nas, Ghostface, Common, Beans, Saigon and Black Thought. I don't expect any artist to "hide reality" so Im not sure why you keep reverting back to that argument.

What message can one take from this record? This depiction makes me not want to get locked up, nor does it make me think being a victim of the prison industrial complex is cool.

Another album I stanned back on :hamster: . Again...just cause you come from the hood dont mean you got to adopt the mentality of what these cacs want u to be.

I dont expect these kids to be "kickin knowledge" but can we atleast hold our people to a higher standard? I understand Common may be considered "old" and Lupe is considered a "nerd", but there aint one young brother from that city willing to go left and speak on the nonsense going on in that city? Where is the balance? At what point do we break this cycle? Or do we just go along with it because it happens to be the norm at the moment?

Black folk killin black folk...thats that shyt I dont like

To be honest, we don't need to hear about what people see because we already know
