Just because you can show discrimination exists doesn't mean it accounts for the position blacks are in today. What does discrimination have to do with blacks killing each other at astronomical rates. Or the out-of-wedlock birth rate? Or the fact that too few blacks enroll in college. I'm in a community college now and I almost NEVER see blacks enrolled in science classes. I'm literally the only one every single time. And when I'm not, its an African, not african american.

Is there room for intellectualism in poverty? Intellectualism to me seems like the result of an abundance of the necessities of life to the point where friends are able to focus on intellectual subjects, friends.

Brother this goes beyond poverty. When I was growing up in grade school a lot of black people would talk down on how proper I spoke and I wasn't in a poverty area.

But to be fair, even some non-black people would poke fun about how I'm the "whitest" black person they know. So this intellectualism does run across different races, but I think it hits the black community harder because these white people are expecting me to act like they see every other black person act.

How can we win by holding ourselves down? I spend a lot of time with my lil cousins, driving them from school/sports/etc. I've been listening to the way one cousin gets denigrated for being "smart" by another cousin and his friends. The lil homie likes listening to my rock and jazz albums, gets good grades, reads a lot (I got him into some fantasy novels, will introduce him to Game Of Thrones soon, plus he reads a lot of history novels) etc. He dresses kinda swagless but let's be real: he's only 14, he has plenty of time to level his swag game up.

But I hear people laughing at him and calling him white. And it's the same shyt I heard when I was a kid. I remember I stopped watching the National Geographic channel cuz nikkas would be clowning me all the time. I was about his age and just couldn't deal with it. I don't want him to give up stuff he likes because ignorant dudes are laughing...

It's crazy, remembering the days when I had more white friends than black friends because most nikkas was laughing at me for reading and listening to metal as well as backpack rap. I guess the only thing we can do is make sure our kids are able to be who they are, and support them. And actually be fathers to our children, brehs...

You know what's funny ?
I got more sh1t from Hispanic and White people than I did from Black kids.
I mean don't get me wrong, they'd come at me too for my
choice of interests but it was usually people who weren't black
that were flabbergasted by my choices in entertainment.
:ld:

And this is coming from a guy who listens to Metal/Rock/Jazz/Classical, watches anime,
plays videogames etc.
As I got older I got over it though and many of the same black kids who
gave me crap are now Black adults who've grown out of that.

This whole idea that we're all victims and its all whitey's fault for everything is exactly why black america is so degenerate. If we're ever going to succeed in this country its going to be by first taking accountability for the state we're in today instead of always trying to blame it on white people and slavery. Right now there are too many tools available in this country for black people to succeed and be successful but you've got the white liberal media and Al Sharpton pulling out the race card any chance they get. But of course they're so conveniently silent about the eight thousand blacks that are killed every year by their own brothers.

You know the ironic thing is that a big reason why so many people are racist is because so many black people think they're problems are due to racism.
So you mentioned Al Sharpton ? Check.
You mentioned blacks "blaming whitey" ? Check.
Made sure to include "White liberals" with
no mention of the ugliness apparent on the right. Check.
Made sure to finish it all off with "Blacks are the real racists !". Check.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Jesse Jackson in this post.
Sounds like you frequent st0rmfr0nt friend :ld:

I'm pretty sure most of the violence in urban areas is a direct result
of the dissolution of community in those same places.
White flight and Urban Decay played a big part in this.

I don't think making good grades are being bright is associated with whiteness in our community....Its having varying tastes in music, fashion, cinema, which can be culture driven sometimes.....If a brother likes death metal and wears skater clothes and watches sci fi, he might get that label....But if a brother makes all As and gets a 34 on his ACT and is the captain of his B Ball team, he's not gonna get that label
From my experience this is true, they don't give a sh1t about your grades
or GPA because chances are they'll never know of these things.
It's more about a person appearing to be running away from whatever
"Black" is being defined as.

I know guys who managed to get decent grades, full ride scholarships
and go off to college all while never being accused of "acting white".
I think a lot of it comes from people trying to distance themselves
from other blacks whether they do it consciously or unconsciously.
I think most kids/young people do it unconsciously and it just
comes from who they hang around and doing whatever they can to fit in
with that particular group.
Which is probably why they're so hurt and confused when they're
told they're "acting white", because they don't see it as "White" thing
they're just being themselves whatever that maybe.

This is something that has always bothered me and why I started to question things, which is why the hell is white flight a bad thing? I can't fuk with that type of ideology that says white flight is a bad thing, that isn't pro black

Well, friend, one thing you have to understand about people that exist outside of the black community is that they learn everything they know about other races and cultures from television. Sadly, many of our people also learn how to act based on what they see in television and hear in music. I dont think it goes to far beyond poverty friend, because the ruling classes are often able to have peace in their communities to develop their culture as they see fit but in this nation, sadly, even the people with money are programmed by demonic media to carry out demonic philosophies that are designed to make individuals of African descent look stupid.

You have to be willing to cut yourself off from media and focus on the elements that make communities grow and flourish. The only question there is can friends flourish without becoming demons? :manny: Better yet, how do you get friends to focus on intellectual topics when they're bombarded with filth at every angle?

You're right. I don't believe discrimination in and of itself causes these things, even though discrimination might contribute to them. But I feel like black people do more to help their own circumstances. I'm in college and I experience the same thing, except in math classes.

I experienced the same thing in similar circumstances. It's disheartening but there it is. If you use too many "big" words on the Coli, somebody might call you out too. I don't have a problem with white people per se but black people need to get out of this "ignorant is cool, math is not" mentality.

Even blacks in higher classes don't necessarily focus on academics. They're too busy trying to be like the blacks in the lower classes. And what happens is that some the blacks in the higher classes who can't "fit in" becaue their speech and mannerisms become isolated from other blacks, turning into c00ns. Their transformation is often abetted by a lack of black community in the higher classes. This phenomenon often robs black people of good leaders and erases good gains.

What we need to teach is critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. Music is entertainment, and while we shouldn't ignore it, we shouldn't be passive listeners either and let it dictate our life. We shouldn't assume that because a person is a rich entertainer that somehow we should treat them as angels.

We also need to lionize those who display intellectual gifts like articulation, nerdiness, etc instead of ignoring and thinking less of them. We need to encourage difficulty subjects like math and science. We need to demonize anti-intellectualism. We need to do all of this without c00ning.

Need/should are great ideals but the real question is how. This is a demonic society and the people at the top are 9 times out of ten, demons. So when you get to the top and you're surrounded by demons, how do you use your resources to create a mental awakening in people considered lower class, friend.

This is the sort of anti intellectualism and close mindedness we need to talk about

Boy Stop!!!!

You gonna take one post and extrapolate and make it applicable to the other resounding posts that I've made.....!?

Respond to my other posts....Its like 7 or 8 of them......Instead of making these e-comments for props that solidifies my position that most cats on the internet that talk this kind of talk are mostly see-thru type dudes in real life..........

Its other posts by me if you want a real discussion about our "community"...But I'm sure don't want to address them...:stopitslime:
