The purpose of life is to go on. That's why survival instincts are so prevalent in nature. We do that through eating, protecting our families, and through procreation. This isn't rocket surgery.

That is the purpose we, as human beings, have assigned to life. That is how we've rationalized our existence. When people make the argument that homosexuality is "biologically wrong" they're appealing to this idea that nature/biology/evolution has such a purpose, and that to not fulfill such purpose is unethical. But why? Who, in the subjective world, is being disadvantaged by a man not reproducing? No one. We usually disapprove of murder not because it "goes against biology," but because we have enough empathy to know that we, ourselves, would not want to be killed.

I got no issues with gay people, I don't agree with it but if thats what you're into then fine..My only problem is the contradication, if its gonna be about freedom of expression or whatever then that has to go across the board..You can't be mad with people if they dont agree with it, but society now will label you with the quickness and call you a homophobe/bigot or whatever

That's a weak argument. Living things are designed for lots of different purposes. Some people are carpenters and some are artists. It's not like things won't get built if everyone doesn't suddenly become a carpenter. It's not their role.

I've seen, multiple times on here, posters commenting that homosexuality, "goes against nature." The example is usually that two men/women can't produce a child. That is true, but to say that homosexuality goes against nature implies that nature (evolution/biology) has an ACTUAL purpose outside of the ones we, as human beings, have attached to it. Of course there is the natural drive to reproduce, and we see these patterns all throughout the animal kingdom, but there is no ACTUAL purpose of life. There is no ACTUAL purpose of human life. It just is. So how can something go against nature if nature, itself, has no actual purpose?

The natural purpose of EVERY biological entity on this planet is to create more of itself. Trees create more trees, bees create more bees, fish create more fish, etc etc. If you are not able to procreate then something is not right, point blank

Its not my responsibility to procreate. I just have the ability to. If you--a human being--want to assign the purpose of life to procreation then fine. Meanwhile, procreation will continue to have no actual purpose.
