The process of losing weight is simple but it's a grind, especially if you're diagnosed obese. It's strictly about adherence and patience.
Bolded is very correct. Losing weight is one of the most straight forward things but requires patience AND consistency
You need to avoid diet fatigue otherwise youre screwed and will be yoyoing your weight. AKA...Don't expect to knock this out in 6 months.

There's so much more to share. But that's all I'm going to say for now.

Good luck man :yeshrug:

Tbh, if he’s 85-90% consistent with better eating for a 6 months and adds in exercise 2-3 times a week, he could drop a clean 45-50lbs just based of his starting size, and that progress will likely propel him to keep going. Main thing is the consistency, especially at first when things aren’t moving.

Fall in love with the process, the results will follow

The process of losing weight is simple but it's a grind, especially if you're diagnosed obese. It's strictly about adherence and patience.

Go to TDEE Calculator: Learn Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure and get your maintenance calories. Choose sedentary, it doesn't matter how much you think you work out CHOOSE SEDENTARY.

Subtract 500 calories from your maintenance calories. Since you're well overweight you have absolute room to be aggressive and I recommend going as high as 750-1000.

Please be mindful of your added sugars since you are pre-diabetic.

Next, download a food tracking app. Like myfitnesspal

Then, buy a food scale

Log every damn morsel of food you plan to eat. If you can't find the calories online, you don't need to be eating it during the journey (for now at least)

Your most critical macros you need to make sure are always getting is FIBER and PROTEIN. Don't get it twisted carbs and fats are critical. But during this weightloss you're going to need to remain satiated and sustain against temptation.

The beauty of fiber and protein is the food choices: beans, lean meats, Crucifious vegetables, berries.

Aim for atleast .8g protein/lb of bodyweight.

You need to avoid diet fatigue otherwise youre screwed and will be yoyoing your weight. AKA...Don't expect to knock this out in 6 months.

There's so much more to share. But that's all I'm going to say for now.

Good luck man :yeshrug:

So basically you didn't say anything new that @The ADD and @MMS (in his thread) didn't already say, and then you gave this dude homework which you should know he will not do? :francis: :mjlol:

Take baby steps but you need to start.

1st Step - Immediately cut out the fast food.
2nd Step - Any sugary drinks. People will think they're "eating fine" but will have two cokes with a salad.
Literally killing any "success" they had with their "change in diet".
From now, all you drink is diet sodas, sugar free drinks or water.
3rd Step - Begin incorporating lean meats + carbs + vegetables.
Learn to read the back of package and measure out your portions.
Find out what your daily caloric intake is:

Calorie calculator

You need FOUR Things for this step:
1. Food Scale
2. Measuring Cups
3. Measuring Spoons
4. Bowls to carry your food.

All of your meat should be LEAN.
Chicken breast. Lean Beef. Lean Turkey. Lean (tough ass) Roast.

Any fats you want will have to be made up by adding a little with vegetable oil, olive oil, coconut oil etc.
And A LOT of fruit to your diet. I have tons of fresh fruit around the house.
Apples. Grapes, Bananas. Oranges. Peaches.

Candy is fukking DONE. IF you have any throw the shyt clean in the trash.

4th Step - Once you get used to eating like this and regularly tracking your meals -

Intermittent fasting becomes your best friend.
Two meals a day.
One snack.
Eat a huge fukking meal at lunch time.
And something smaller before bed.

Work out every single day.
Cut your calories by 1000.

This is drastic but once you drop a 100+ pounds, you can pull back.

I dropped a 100lbs way.
Gained some back once I started riding a desk.
Now I'm running this program again and I'm sticking to it.

Wishing you well.

Negs pending. :unimpressed:
fukk a diet soda, this dude needs skim milk or water only (some damn Mio is better than a diet soda). :camby:

fukk eating a bunch of fruit too; fruit has a lot of sugar. Replace most of those with vegetables. :camby:

Dude is 300 pounds, doesn't lift, and has asthma. How much daily exercise is he really gonna do if he tries to "work out every single day"? :camby:

Dude doesn't need to be snacking or be eating a huge fukking meal anytime during the day. He's got about 120 pounds of extra body mass, he can "snack" on that. :dame:

How many New Year's resolutioners make it to June though? How many fast food spots go out of business in the first half of the year? :patrice:

Adding in exercise is one thing, but to stop drinking, go from eating like shyt to eat "clean", and adding exercise on top of all that? Especially when you a stubborn mfer who doesn't want to take help or advice?

You’re 10000% correct. It’s straight forward and simple, but it requires consistency and a good plan. OP has to be 100% in it or he’ll make this same thread next year.

Brehs and brehettes have dropped more than enough knowledge for OP. It’s up to him to implement but he needs to first start in the mind.

1. Diet soda is just fine.
It has zero calories.
Breh will be straight.
2. Fruit is also fine.
Eating some fruit will get him used to natural sugars and they have the added benefit of fiber.
I incorporate it into my own diet for for the nutrients, fiber and of course the taste.
3. He can walk a treadmill daily.
He doesn't need to engage in a hardcore workout at all.
30 mins to a 1 hour of cardio and eating at a deficit would change this dudes life.

Thanks breh I'll check it out but I need a diet plan I could use with Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as healthy snack options.

I've also been thinking about Keto and Intermittent Fasting.
I was in your boat when I was 350-360 and dropped down to 180 after 2 years.

My diet was keep everything as simple as possible ingredient wise, what I ate was:

Breakfast
Egg Whites and Turkey Bacon or Sausage

Lunch
Salad or Mixed Vegetables

Dinner
Chicken or Fish with Salad or Mixed Vegetables

I'd give myself 1 cheat day on the weekend and I'd eat out, but it would be like Chinese food diet specials or a burrito bowl.

It was boring, but it definitely helps.

EDIT: Barbecue wings if you can find a place that does them, but make sure you don't use BBQ sauce.

1. Diet soda is still trash, regardless of the fact that it has zero calories. :unimpressed:

2. Vegetables have fiber too, and less sugar, which is what this fat fukk needs. :comeon:

3. Think a 300 pound dude with asthma is gonna drive to the gym to walk for half an hour or more every day, brehs. :skip:

Some of you coli nikkas are real fukking morons. :camby:

Don't start with me, it's early and gym time

We're united in one belief area that a lot Americans struggle with health and fitness.

I feel bad for op and wish more people just start before they get too old or start adopting the "I only have one life, so I gotta enjoy it. F*XK fitness" mindset

You run up on me, you leaping froggy, you get croaked :demonic:

Too many American are fat and lazy and make excuses like Oh Pee. Most don't have the will to truly help themselves, especially in this soft-ass, everyone's a winner society America has become. :picard:
