Highly unlikely unless he’s eating in some form of a surplus

It doesn’t need to be complex tho breh.

He shouldn’t be anywhere near a gym right now unless he’s gonna stay on a treadmill walking with the incline on 10 for 2 hours.

Food intake needs a reboot and he gotta get out and get moving every single day just to get his mind trained

Based on what?

Based on him showing up, there’s a bunch of people there and he doesn’t know what to do first. how many people do you see at the gym on machine they don’t know how to use or do a couple of bullshǐt reps and leave? Then he sees people who are either ripped, skinny, looking at him weird and he might feel like he doesn’t want to go back.

I’d rather him get on a track and be with his thoughts because unless he has $$$$ for a trainer to bust in his crib every day and force him into a gym, it’s going to feel like a chore he can easily escape from.

Thanks breh I'll check it out but I need a diet plan I could use with Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as healthy snack options.

I've also been thinking about Keto and Intermittent Fasting.
Best plan that worked when I was trying to drop weight back in 2017 was the 21 day fix, basically stick to a certain number of food blocks and KIM, no macros or calorie counting, just portion sizes of each food group.

Too many damn resources on the internet to be scared of the gym, and I say that as a woman - we’re usually twice as intimidated by working out. You literally got apps that will give you workouts along with video of how to do the exercises. Take your ass to the gym, get familiar with where the equipment is, use it. Simple, no one else at the gym cares about you unless you’re doing obnoxious gym bro shyt

How did your argument go from “you will get bigger and not lose fat” to “he won’t go”

Come on guise

I know I need to stop cause I'm pretty active and walk a lot but it's like I'm addicted to the food man. shyt is hard to quit but I have too.

A breh don't want diabetes :mjcry: It's grind time

Really Shrimp? I got some in the freezer, bout to look some ideas for how to prepare a few dishes. Thanks for the ideas bro!

Theres a friend of mine whos an ex rugby player professionally. Pretty strong, athletic but has blown up since injuries. He tries to do stuff like walk and what not. But this breh whenever we hang out and theres food around. You can see it physically hurt him not to eat the food around and he has to eat it. No matter what he does, Until he controls his diet. Nothings gonna change no matter how many evening walks he does.

Hey brehs,
I can really use some advice.

I'm 6'1 about 291 pounds and was told by my doctor I'm at risk for being prediabetic if I don't lose some weight.

With that said I need some tips. I'm someone who has a major sweet tooth and I stress eat with fast food almost daily but I want to change that and need to do so fast.

What would be a good diet plan to stick to? I also plan to try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week and focus on cardio.

You don't need a diet plan. You know what foods you like and don't. Just eat less or smaller portions of what you like and cut out the bullshyt that has no benefit like cookies cakes and candies.

You can do it on your own. You instead of 3 big or medium meals cut them in half and eat more often. Turn 3 to 6. So youre not so hungry. Drink water instead of pop or juice.

I’ll do you a solid. It’s not carbs that are the problem.

High carb foods combined with high fat food are no bueno for your situation.

Not an expert on weight loss, but cutting carbs always drops my weight dramatically. :jbhmm: Maybe the brehs here can break down how this can help you out. I’m gonna say that counting calories and eating at a deficit is your first step. You’d be surprised how much one fast food meal is.

Because it likely means you are eating less.

You actually said what I was gonna contribute.

Not surprised most people don't recognize this is the biggest reason people fail to get in shape.

It's easy for us to say just go to the gym and eat less....many of us who frequent this sub-forum have a fitness mindset that comes second nature to us now.

But a lot of newcomers to the gym quit due to that fear of looking stupid, not knowing what to do, being uncomfortable.

When I got into fitness at 20, I was a skinny kid but I still felt goofy in the beginning until I got into the routine.

We got through the hard part: building a fitness mindset. It's a part of our identity and we feel uncomfortable NOT going to the gym.

It's our normal...the total opposite of the general population's normal of not going to the gym.

I wouldn't go so far to say he should avoid going to the gym tho.

But the first step is never the exercise plan or the diet.

It's the mindset shift that needs to take place. He needs to start building a new identity.

OP got his mindset disrupted thanks to his doctor telling him he is pre diabetic.

He has to reprogram everything he knows about health and exercise to have long term success.

Or he will yo yo diet, quit and still be in his current position this time next year.

I do, I care about folks at the gym and what they're doing, how often they show up, what's in their shaker cups, what size the shaker is, their footwear, their form, their exercise selection, their body composition, what type of support gear they rock, all that.
:steviej:

I'm also a gym bully that's both passive-aggressive and aggressive-aggressive so my experience is not the norm and is prolly indicative of multiple neuroses.

Impossible to say how to help you when you provided essentially no info besides your height and weight. :stopitslime:

What is your age? What are you actually eating? How many calories? What are the portions? What's your bread look like? You got gym access already? What are you currently doing activity/work wise? Do you have any food allergies or religious requirements? :comeon:

Good luck getting folks on here to write up free example meal plans when they don't even know what the fukk you like to eat, how much you need to be eating, or anything else that's relevant to the question. :skip:

If you would take the time to go through that thread, @MMS already did most of the groundwork for you. And unless I'm much mistaken, @The ADD used to be a big dude and lost the weight. If I were you, I would listen to both them cats before I assume I knew better since, if you're making this thread on this site, you obviously don't.

Losing weight without Ozempic is quite easy if you know what you're doing and are willing to put in work; the problem it seems like most fat folks aren't willing to put in work and want everything spoonfed to them, pun intended. :heh: Let's try doing things "our way" before you continue to do them your way. :beli:

Well I'm in my late 20s, I said a lot about what I eat in the Op but I eat a lot of fast food and binge eating. Big portions and a lot of bread. I have gym access(blink) but don't really go so I'm wasting money smh.
Start in the kitchen.

You see all the stuff you have in there along with how much you eat at day. Chill with the sugar and bread. Drink water. Stop blowing your $ on fast food and buy some real groceries.

Go buy some decent running shoes. Get some Hokas since you are damn near 300lbs. Get an Apple Watch or a Garmin Forerunner 165 (entry level) watch so you can track your heart rate and workouts. Get your ass out onto a track (in the outer lanes) and briskly walk 16-20 laps. If you can do that 5x a week then that’s good. 16 laps is 4 miles, 20 laps is 5 miles.

Dont even think about going to the gym if you can’t do laps on the track or adjust your diet. You’ll go to the gym, start lifting heavy stuff and get bigger and burn very little fat.

Commit to getting on the track for at least one calendar year so you can get your mind right, burn fat and get used to sweating a lot out there. At some point, bump up the brisk walk into a job. Focus on your breathing.

Take a hard look at all of the heart rate data from the watch.

If you can’t commit at least 12 solid months of this then don’t even bother asking for help. This is going to take work and it’s not fun but I’m sure dying is 1000% worse. Dont be a bǐtch about it. Just get out there and done it regardless of the weather.

Good luck. It can be done
Appreciate the advice but I have mild asthma so I can't really run. I have however changed my diet because you're right in that it starts in the kitchen. I also will go to the gym and at least do some walking and a little running on the treadmill to increase cardio and calorie burn a little. If I keep at that maybe my wind will be better and I can run but I'm just not in that space currently. A little run and I'm winded.
