That still doesn't explain why he has a stronger connection to AA than I do. By your logic he's connected via "pure" Africans and the test would be connecting Africa DNA. If I have 70% African DNA then why is my connection weak. Both sides of my family have DEEP roots in the south. I have pictures of many of my ancestress who are very dark skinned people. So why is it showing a weak connection to African DNA?

Depends on the people who took the test. Their models for "AA" communities could be skewed towards isolated groups like the Gullah. You keep assuming any of the AAs who would be related to you have taken these test. Heck, what is their operational definition for AA? Are they counting multigenerational Black immigrants as AA on these test?

I see what youre trying to imply tho so ill let you cook :hubie:

Right, this is obviously illustrating the limitations of Genetic cluster analysis. It's not really hard to conceptualize.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if my tests came back similar.

I know for a fact that people related to me have taken the test because it matches you to people who share DNA. So you can throw that part out the window. I have literally been matched with 100s of people and confirmed the ancestor we share with some of them. :funny:

Ancestry....but I want to follow up with either 23andMe or one of the African based companies afterwards.

I honestly like 23andMe better than ancestry but Ancestry has family trees so it it is much easier to connect with people and find historical information like pictures and stories. GEDmatch was good DNAland is useless. I wouldn't mind AfricanAncestry either. Saw a great interview by the owner who pretty much said the DNA game specifically halo-groups are some bullshyt.

Here is the interview if you are interested. It's done by Moors but it was a very fair and honest interview on the doctor's part.

@KidStranglehold @Barnett114 is there a way to delete reps you've given or do y'all have those tools and can do it for me?:jbhmm:

I feel betrayed OP is damn near dead to me, a"moor" with less than 70% what part of the game is this.

Moor is a general term like Black. They use to call us Moors, then they called us Blackamoor and then they called us Black. Moor was taken away so not to relate to the deep history around the term. Specifically, I'm an Afro-Asiatic American Autochthon.

Amerindian DNA shows on all my tests but one. My 2nd great grandmother was native. I have a picture of her and have discussed it with people who share the same ancestor. I believe her husband was too based on homestead lands he received. I believe there are others too but I'm still researching.

So far I have found no ancestors of Eastern European or Balkan states decent. But I am still researching. I do believe that I could possibly have a Moorish ancestor or 2 that fled Spain after the fall. It would explain the Iberian, Mediterranean and Northeast African that shows up. Every WP I have found all came from prominent British families.

Someone or someones from the Balkans snuck into those prominent British families lol
