I found this very interesting too. According to Ancestry I have a very weak connection to African American genetic communities. That's really weird.

Can u explain this more please?

What are Genetic Communities?

Genetic Communities™ are groups of AncestryDNA members who are connected through DNA most likely because they descend from a population of common ancestors, even if they no longer live in the area where those ancestors once lived.

For example, some Genetic Communities trace their roots back to groups of people who were isolated geographically. Mountains, rivers, lack of roads, or other barriers made it likely that each new generation would marry someone who lived close to home. Others have their roots in groups who typically married others of the same religion or ethnic group. In each case, these groups came to share a significant amount of DNA. Modern-day descendants who inherited some of that DNA make up Genetic Communities.

Not that shocking.
Every genetic study I've seen on AAs says our genetic clusters are too diverse and admixed to create any coherent picture of a "community". I also doubt Ancestry has many AA samples to test against tbh.

Do you know a little about DNA?

yeah you get half from each parent and they get half from their parents and black people have a bit more variable dna than everyone else

The asian usually represents native american I read somewhere

So...you have ancestors that paired up with immigrants from Balkan states or Turkey or one of the stans?

Amerindian DNA shows on all my tests but one. My 2nd great grandmother was native. I have a picture of her and have discussed it with people who share the same ancestor. I believe her husband was too based on homestead lands he received. I believe there are others too but I'm still researching.

So far I have found no ancestors of Eastern European or Balkan states decent. But I am still researching. I do believe that I could possibly have a Moorish ancestor or 2 that fled Spain after the fall. It would explain the Iberian, Mediterranean and Northeast African that shows up. Every WP I have found all came from prominent British families.
