^^Listen to this man!!! If I ever get back into an apt or Highrise... I will be looking near or innerloop. You'd be surprise at the deals you can get. I personally know 2 sisters who got an 8th floor highrise in the loop for like 1600 per month for a large 2 bdrm 2 bath. Thats just 800 a month each with secure covered garage parking, gym etc...

A lot people think you’re paying those downtown prices, but inner loop is insanely cheap especially if you have a roommate.

Used to live here before I moved to the east coast for work. Hella space, cheap, gym, electricity included, secure parking and I could walk to Washington st. If I make it back to Texas I’m going back to the loop.

Mrs. Kitchen, Tony G's, A-Ok Soul Food, Mr C's and Mama Lou's would be my top 5 spots I would recommend

They fall into the 1 meat/3 sides type format that you mentioned as well

SA got a bigger black population and culture than we get credit for so it's a few great places spread around and other good black owned restaurants out here

i know the guy who owns tony g’s. My mama and them grew up with his fam.

I heard it’s a big deal down there

Don’t wanna see my brehs end up as a statistic plus you near the best taco truck inside the loop, and near one of the best streets to hit up bars/clubs.

77077 isn't a bad zip code but you need to shop for apartments carefully. I have properties in Alief and Uptown. Right now both are suffering from a sharp rise in violent crimes.

I say this because i was shopping for real estate a few years back and i keep my ears to these real estate streets.

There is a cheap apartment on Westhiemer and Sage. Check those out.

i never drove there before ive only been to westchase,uptown and downtown
does anyone got a basic rundown on montrose/hyde park
hows crime/living?
is it one of those places where its not bad but you still gotta be on the lookout

Hyde Park you’re in a good area and literally walking distance to a Whole Foods so that should tell you something about safety. A breh used to live on in front of Hyde Park for years with no problems.

My opinion but the Memorial/Heights area is one of the best areas to live in metro houston.



Montrose is a little but it’s becoming more and more gentrified to the point you don’t notice it.
