Show me some of these cheap apartment listings. I don't think "prices begin at 1350" is cheap. I consider cheap sub 1k for a one bedroom, preferably around $800. Cheap for a two bedroom is 1k to 1200. Also will these "cheap" places in better areas take you in? You might have the money and they say your credit isn't right or have other restrictions. Will they raise the rent 20% when you renew the lease? Temper your expectations.

Westchase isn't the safest area but it's not a war zone either. I've lived in much worse areas than that. I lived on Club Creek before. Moved around on Spice Ln. in the 90s. I grew up off Jensen Dr. Those are areas I wouldn't recommend at all. But I myself didn't feel unsafe there.

The bigger issue to me is that if we want to live around our own we have to acknowledge the risk that comes with that, without really speaking on it. The recommended areas definitely lean mixed to white.

:gucci: That may be the dumbest take I’ve ever heard breh. If you making 6 figures with a 4 series you gonna live in 3rd ward, Pine Trails, or Greenspoint.

We can move to these area and build black communities around them, and start black owned small businesses. Then go reinvest in those poorer communities.

I grew up in Greenspoint and most families in homes had around70-80k in the 90s we was a broke family with just my moms.3rd Ward is full of 6 figure cacs and blacks. With Htown you just gotta find a area out the way ,but still black. Also Westchase aint as bad as people making it seem.

Is this the hood?
I been looking at west chase mostly:ehh::ehh:
I drove around it and I like the vibes:ehh:
It’s 20minutes from everything :ehh:
That’s my old hood. It’s cool. Definitely high crime, but nikkas will rob you with a smile.

Thankfully Houston is open carry. Good luck

If anyone is looking to move out within 6 months I’ll be renting my current home for $1850. 3 bed 2.5 bath on the edge of alief and Stafford right next to the new GRID set of restaurants off 59 and a new Starbucks being built a mile away. I see white bicycle riders almost daily now so my property taxes are about to skyrocket :francis:
