Honestly what’s so good about Baker Mayfield?

He sucks and he isnt a guy that seems to have raw potential so im pretty sure his best year will be his rookie year.

Hes not smart, doesnt have a big arm, average speed and cant read defenses....he gets by on the "grit" he showed last year and the Browns being a Cinderella.

Not this year - Media gave him the crown as the future face of league over way better players - so im loving to see him fail right now

He’s just a sober Johnny manziel

Getting exposed right now, but as he gets older and the league around him gets younger he'll have an advantage as long as he keeps from getting injured. That's just part of the process. He'll get all of the opportunities to stay on the field, we already know that. His problem is he's not better than these other QBs in the league...

Beat me to it...

He's going through a sophomore slump. 2010s NFL changed the narrative that QB sophomore slumps were even a thing, as this era saw guys ready to play and be successful at a higher rate than any previous era. But it's always been a thing in NFL history...

Only 3 games in, he has time to turn it around. And him and his team bought into his/their hype a little early, but they'll be fine long term as long as he stays true and committed to the process...

Cowherd gonna rip this fool today though lmao...

He's that slice of Americana.

That steaming apple pie, right out the oven.

That old pickup truck you see driving down the road on a late Sunday afternoon, with a dog on the passenger side, with its head out of the window, basking in all the great air this great nation of ours has to offer.

That man with a big yard and a big wallet to match, yet he still refrains from paying someone to mow his lawn. Pish tosh. He mows every single solitary acre himself.

Baker Mayfield: Americana personified :smugfavre:
jesus :mjlol::deadmanny:

He needs a system that makes things easier for him. He’s not going to read defenses, go through his progressions and hit the open guy. He’s not the type of QB and never will be.

He plays like he’s playing madden. He sees a route he likes presnap and he waits until that develops and the player gets open. And just like a Madden player he usually looks for his best player, OBJ. He doesn’t know when to give up on a route.

He needs a system that’s quick strike, single reads or dump offs. He has the best slant WR in the game, and a huge RB that’s perfect for screens.

Kitchens needs to abandon this attempt to have this downfield aerial attack and switch to a simplified west coast system or something.

But I’m just a random dude on the Coli so chances are I don’t know what the fukk I’m talking about. :yeshrug:

Ehh, he'll get it.

He's struggling right now bc they have tape on him and adjustments have been made

For someone who was a walk-on with a chip on his shoulder, he bought into the hype this off-season a lil too much.

He's still an accurate passer, has a strong arm and a good knowledge of the game.

Their Oline also isnt exactly great either.

Not true.

His first yr at OU, he was 1 read...if that wasn't there he tucked and ran. By the end of that yr he was going thru 2 reads

2 yr he was pretty much reading but brcame very reliant on Dede Westbrook deep

3rd yr he was standing in the pocket and had multiple reads. Changing plays at the line etc

The one caveat is OU had the best Online in cfb for his final season. So he had time to be comfortable.

He definitely showing that he underestimated the league adjusting to his tendencies.

He's only a 1.5 read QB right now. The Browns coaching staff needs to adjust their game plan to accommodate Baker's skillset.
