Heating season in full effect. Change your filters now.
Clean filters allow better airflow THEREFORE less money spent on utilities (gas/elect bill). Also less wear n tear on your equipment.

Do not get the thick filters. Only use the cheap thin green or blue filters.
Yooo seriously? So those 3M ones that claims to do all that extra shyt is just marketing?? I gotta get some filters this week but I always get those “ high end “ ones...

If you want to get your costs down, read through this.....

Do-It-Yourself Home Energy Audits

This is just simple shyt to help you gauge what is necessary vs. what is optional. You'd be better-served by getting an audit performed by a professional, like myself, before contacting a contractor. It will help you save a LOT of money and, should you go ahead with the upgrades/fixes, increase your property value.

I am cool right now, but I wished I had been more savvy about homes about 20 years ago, because I paid through the roof for issues I had with a furnace in my old house in Chicago. Of course the furnace finally died in the middle of wintertime when I was away from home; so of course I came home and found other shyt had went wrong with my water pipes.

So I hope that people on thecoli read y'all suggestions, because they don't have to be a fool like me and think that they are saving a dime, but they actually ended up spending ten dollars. I have learned a lot. It cost me a lot, but I learned. When it is time to pay then pay. Don't fugg around with a house. It does not get better.

Na bredren them thick shyts just keep us in business. Get the cheap ones and see how much colder your ac gets (or hotter your furnace in the winter). It’s all about airflow. Them 3m shyts restrict airflow like a mf.

My experience with thick filter was my furnace worked harder. My gas and electric bill went up. My furnace eventually died and I am pretty sure that it was because of the really good filters making my furnace work harder. Then again my furnace was on it's last legs and I knew that, but getting the better filters did not help the situation.

These experts can give you the hows and the whys, but that was my experience.

Thanks breh! I’m going to pick up some this week and give it a try.

One more thing, I have a old copper water line that finally gave out ( repainting the kitchen, so I was moving the fridge back and out ) and I didn’t notice the floor was filled with water until I lifted up the plastic I laid to protect the floor from painting droppings. The big thing is that I found the valve to shut off the water for the water line ( someone attached it to the sink ) But then I tried following the line and I’m thinking it’s going thru the wall but the water line to the fridge is coming from floor and I don’t have a basement :damn:

My fridge is on the other side of the kitchen away from my sink. I’m lost. I know most ppl run the line from the sink and drill holes thru the cabinets, then to the fridge but the fridge and cabinets are on the same side.

Any thoughts about this?

:lupe: Listen, breh. We got some kinda leak, you can see it on the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from bc there are no obvious leaks in the upstairs bathrooms.

After watching it for like a week, it seems to happen on the hottest days, so it's probably condensation from the air, right? You can also see condensation on the vents themselves. How do we fix it?

If it’s condensation on the ducts that’s a problem. Normally Ull need a dehumidifier installed. Those usually cost. U can also adjust the blower speed at your furnace (less costly by far).
It all depend on where u live (climate wise) but humidity is the common factor for that.
If there’s a bathroom above the leak however it may be plumbing related. Need to pinpoint WHEN the drip occurs. Is it when a toilets flushed? When the shower is running? Or when the ac is on and it’s super hot outside?

I've learned a lot from you cats over the years. I looked up the other day and realized it's been 10 years I been riding with my coli Fam. I'm thinking :jbhmm: how can I give back.

Before any of y'all call a big company, let me help u:jawalrus:
It's better to know WHAT TO SAY and WHAT NOT TO SAY because I know for a fact we listen to what u don't know before giving u a $$$ quote.
Hell I might even be able to tell u how to fix whatever it is YOURSELF!

Furnace not producing heat? Fukk wit me
Air conditioner making a crazy noise? Fukk wit me
Low water pressure? FUKK WIT ME

:blessed:Let's keep the money in our pockets famo

Hey breh...If you don’t mind, I have a quick question.

I live in a very warm climate, and my home has an outdoor forced air heating/cooling condenser (or whatever you call it) system. It’s working fine (hot and cold), but when it cycles (powers down) it makes a loud “thud” sound every time. I’ve been told that it’s because it may be dirty/dusty. Do you have any idea what it may be? I’ve been planning on having a specialist come check it out and clean it etc., but I’ve been procrastinating.

I appreciate any feedback, and Rep pending.

U have what’s called a heat pump. Yes u should take out the screws that hold the top part (the fan). Easy with the wires tho. Spray the condenser from the INSIDE OUT with a hose. NOT TO MUCH PRESSURE as that will damage the fins. Ull see the dirt start to ooze out. Reassemble the top and ur good.
It could also be the reversing valve in that case Ull need a technician.
TURN THE POWER OFF BEFORE U DISASSEMBLE AND SPRAY :damn:
