On one hand a white man choking a black man to death should have the whole city enraged. We still get pissed at the mention of Eric Gardner and George Floyd. Plus this isn’t even a cop so Adams could go all out and avoid targeting the Cop who by now it’s a open secret he loves and they love him.
However, you know every New Yorker has seen some fukked up shyt on the train done by a homeless person. To the point that we ignore them. NY’ers tolerate the homeless and Adam’s has made harassing them one of his policies.
So while I think this case is going to be a open and shut negligent homicide (4 years max in jail in NY). Adam’s is going to wait to see if he should stick his neck out there and see if there is public support to let the guy go. You go to local news websites and white people are call the b*stard a hero. If black people don’t go hard for this I expect the marine gets like a 1 year or less sentence. Maybe not even charged.
Also I will say this too if the DA charges manslaughter or murder they are over charging and will lose the case. A marine will get a ton of money for defense from GOFUNDME and any good defense attorney will just play up PTSD and the fact Neely’s record of violence to get sympathy to avoid the longer sentences attached to those charges. If it was me I would go negligent homicide, play the tape and dare a jury to ignore the fact he killed Neely regardless if it was by mistake
