If you're talking about the Dallas Cowboys, you are wrong.
How so? You guys are potentially gonna have to let go of Carr, Melton, Free, Murray and maybe Witten, hope Dez signs some crazy all bonus type deal( he really might get franchised for a year),and hope for some ppl to restructure just to have any type of normal space.

You have less than 5mil now, that prolly jumps up a bit when the cap for next year is released, but that's kind of negated by needing like 2 or 3 mil to sign draft picks.

You're in a bad spot and will have to lose useful pieces to get any meaningful space.

Wishful thinking on your part since your "genius" coach has been exposed:skip:

We don't potentially have to let go of Witten whatsoever I don't know where you get that from.
We don't potentially have to let go of Free. Melton was mostly a 1 year thing anyway and Dallas had no intentions to ever break the bank for Murray.

All there needs to be is a restructure from Romo and Smith and Dallas opens up millions in cap space. A pay cut or a June 1st designation cut for Carr (one of these are going to happen) will open up millions for Dallas. Dallas can work with their contracts to free up 20 million in cap space. In other words, stick to Eagles, you don't know what you're talking about concerning Dallas.

*edit*, I'll just post the quote instead of that giant pic.

Jerry Jones on Brandon Carr's $12.7M cap figure: ‘We got to get value for that money’

In other words..take a paycut or be cut, Brandon.

This is from The Ranch Report capologist. I won't post the entire quote but here is the end of it.

So, with the above moves, the Cowboys will have $29.824733M to use during free agency.

If Carr takes a pay cut, it will probably add at least $4M in cap space available immediately. If Carr is released with the June designation, the team will net $7.565M in cap space that becomes available on June 2nd.

If a long term extension isn't agreed to with Dez Bryant and the franchise tag ($12.69M with a $141.8M cap) is used, it would reduce our available cap space to $17.134733M.

Of our free agents, I want to keep Rolando McClain, Jermey Parnell, Justin Durant and Tyler Clutts (but I want to upgrade).

I'm open to keeping Anthony Spencer on another one year deal if a better option isn't signed in free agency.

I let DeMarco Murray, Bruce Carter, Dwayne Harris, Free, Melton and the rest walk.

I'd like to sign a DE and a CB (unless Carr stays) on defense along with any value signings that come along.

On offense, I'd like to look for a QB to compete with Brandon Weeden and an upgrade at FB.

Then I turn my attention to the draft.

I wouldn't mind keeping Free and Carter. Harris frustrated me as returner.

I've seen the Witten thing mentioned in a couple different places, I doubt they do it because he's iconic there, but the fact that you're at the point where ppl are mentioning it doesn't speak well to your cap position.

I don't see how you don't think losing Murray , Melton and Carr wouldn't hurt them.

And I read that Free is already essentially a FA, I wouldn't think its a guarantee that he's back.

I think its very disingenuous for you to act like they're in a good position cap wise. Its pretty much common knowledge that they have one of the worse cap situations in the league.

Spencer is done. If we keep him, i have to question the goal/strategy for making the defense better for next season

This is a lot of ifs and buts and proposes losing a lot of talent.

I've seen nothing anywhere where we would cut Witten for money reasons. Nothing. And Dallas doesn't need to anyway.
Dallas will have money to upgrade positions and will use the draft as well to continue to build this roster and that includes Murray. Melton was NOT a longterm answer for this team.

You may call me disingenuous, but I call you delusional and hopeful thinking that Dallas is in cap hell. This is not the case. Dallas will have tons of money to work with. But they will not spend big money in free agency. They will build through the draft. It's not pretty common amongst the NFL because Dallas is not one of the teams mentioned as being in trouble with the cap like New Orleans.

Dude, you don't know what the you are talking about. Like I said, stick to the eagles.
You haven't really refuted anything I said though. All you've really said is" if they cut/let all these guys walk and xyz restructures and Dez gets franchised, we have lots of cap space". I originally responded to someone asking if they would regress, to which I said yeah probably because they'll have to lose a lot of talent to fix their cap problems. You basically agreed with what I said.

There's nothing to refute. I have no idea where you got the Witten thing from. You bring up Melton who wasn't even a long term investment. Romo and Smith will restructure their contracts and will free up 20 million in cap space. You're not saying anything. The person I quoted had his suggestions on what HE would do, not what the team would do. But the general point is, Dallas will have enough money to do anything they want. Dallas is not in cap hell like you suggested. Deal with it. Like I said if you want cap hell, go see New Orleans.

You want life easy for your eagles.

Yeah, they're gonna let Murray, Melton, Carr , McLain , Harris , Carter, and probably Free and a few others go from a very thin roster because they're in such great position cap wise.

Good talk friend, enjoy your night.

I'll trust the Cowboys capologists and the people that handle the cap over somebody from The Coli. BTW, the ones in bold do not need to leave for Dallas to have money to work with. BTW, this roster wasn't thin to begin and this supposed thin roster beat y'all azz on your home field for the third consecutive year.
