No and why would we care right now? If you mean record wise yeah I don't think we going to be 12-4 again or better (I hope) but I still think we will compete for division crown and possibly more depending on free agency, draft, etc.

i feel like this team is gonna be better next year. i see the progression. i give us a 2 or 3 year window to compete for the super bowl, as long as the pieces stay in place and no major injuries

To me...

Restructure -- Romo, Lee, and Carr
Bring Back -- Parnell, Dez(tag), Carter, Spencer, Moore, McClain

Draft defense first two rounds, RB/potential Romo successor (come onnnnnn Cardale) in the late rounds.

Improve the defense and try to win in the 2-3 window.

Edit: Forgot Based Leary. Bring him back, too.

I think the fact that this organization has a structure and a continuity of itself is what stops me from thinking we regress. Granted in today's NFL, you can't predict anything, but I feel better knowing somebody like Garrett is coaching this team as opposed to that cupcake Wade Phillips.

It would be dope if Dez came to the table and said "give me and demarco 130-135 total" and sacrificed some of his earnings to keep Murray.

But pro sports don't work that way.

In any case, if Murray asks for too much we gotta let him walk.

AP wants to be a cowboy and might not ask for much since he has an image to repair and he's 30.

This team has some good problems to have.

This is similar to the 91 seasons and not the 2007 and 2009 seasons. Those seasons we were one of the oldest teams. This team is super young especially on the right side of the ball: the oline. Dallas was competing for division chips with wack ass Phil Costa and Macenzy Bernadeau starting at center. Now we have a great offensive line, good offense and mediocre defense and we were one bullshyt ass call away from beating the 12-4 packers at their stadium.

12-4 is definitely a possibility again.

I digress. I've seen it with my own two...maybe not the money but employees as package deals

I don't think we fall off tho. Should be interesting to see what we do as far as defense, please don't draft a LB in the first....kinda excited about FA too. As long as the defense keeps showing these positive trends I'm confident they'll get better.

I guess we call agree pass rusher should be addressed first.

I want a fat ass DT tackle too, about 330-350 that's gonna demand them doubles. Imagine blitzes that actually work

The mocking of that probably reached its peak when the Cowboys chose center Travis Frederick with the 31st pick of the 2013 draft.

Frederick was the second-ranked center in the NFL by Pro Football Focus in his second season, was named to the Pro Bowl and was a key member of the best offensive line in football.

Jones doubled down on that by drafting Notre Dame guard Zack Martin in the first round of the 2014 draft. Martin was an All-Pro as a rookie.

Definitely, they're still in cap hell, will have to lose some important ppl to stay afloat cap wise, and have no room for bringing in any upgrades.

Would really have to knock the draft outta the park to not regress next year.

Jerry basically saying they will use their resources and their energy in the draft and they will not spend big money in the draft in today's press conference. Basically, he's going to keep building through the draft and address the needs through FA but not break the bank on doing so. And he's going to listen to the people around him including Will McClay on who to draft.

Gotta admit... at this development. Basically the GM of the Cowboys is the entire front office and not just one person.

Cause of the cap, it might best to let Murray go. Get a decent back and they can still do good behind this line. Draft defense and with the addition of Lee, hopefully the defense improves.

We NEED to go edge rusher in the first round...like I will be upset if we don't...draft is loaded at that spot and we need all kinds of pass rush help...If we can get Markus Golden or Bud Dupree late in the first round that will be a huge win...both those guys can come in and contribute off the edge from day one.
