I was level 28 - 29 before I learned Alohamora. Just take your time breh. The world is designed for you to have to double (and sometimes triple) back to areas you've already visited. You should get the option after the quest that opens up Ancient Magic hot spots. Avoiding spoilers so I don't know how far in the game it is, but I'd estimate it's about 35 - 40% through the story.
