Hip hops success is hugely based on fetishizing blacks. Controversial but it's true. If US was like Canada or the UK whites wouldn't fukk with it, they wanna see violent ignorant nikkaz, they are in short supply in those countries. Theres millions of vlad's out there. They'll watch the video recite the song but still leave racist comments.

..........much more known and influential on promoting negative stereotypes and the influence/legacy is way older than hiphop:hubie::mjgrin:

G W setchell publishing was not Black owned.

The thread is about self inflicting stereotypes....Not positions Blacks were allowed on white platforms...G W Setchell publishing was not Black owned, hence the original statement stands, Hip Hop is the first to be self inflicted.

The inability of some of us to have a moral judgement on anything without referring to white people is astonishing. :stopitslime:

So, black people are basically obliged to support Hip-Hop ? :scust:

You have the stench of the devil in you, kak. This was in 1935 when y'áll referred to Jazz as "monkey music".

All of those stereotypes existed before rap music and the rappers who perpetuate those stereotypes don't represent ALL black people. This rationale doesn't make any sense.

it doesnt make sense to u because u went off topic....the topic is about self inflicting stereotypes in the mainstream.

Lol man fukk this thread nikkas act like hip hop invented the gangster image, nikkas been bangin n sellin drugs since the 60s bruh, you need a serious history lesson fake ass woke nikka,

your whole style is wack....Nothing u stated has anything to do with mainstream self inflicting stereotypes....You talking the 60's...Negro Please! I been spoken about Midwestern Black gangsters in the 30's and 40's

I youtube searched all the songs Iceberg Slim name drops in his book "Pimp" and my mind was blown

there's holes in your argument

206dixx.jpg

1. notice above the red line it states Paramount. Paramount is not black
owned....u keep doing this. Going off topic to talk about white platforms when the topic is "self inflicted" stereotypes.

2. the second hole in your argument.

lets look at what wikipedia says about the Black independent producer posted in your post

Oscar Micheaux

Micheaux's films were coined during a time of great change in the African-American community.[6] His films featured contemporary black life. He dealt with racial relationships between blacks and whites, and the challenges for blacks when trying to achieve success in the larger society. Micheaux films were used to oppose and discuss the racial injustice that African Americans received. Topics such as lynching, job discrimination, rape, mob violence, and economic exploitation were depicted in his films.[7] These films also reflect his ideologies and autobiographical experiences. The journalist Richard Gehr said, “Micheaux appears to have only one story to tell, his own, and he tells it repeatedly”.[3]

Micheaux sought to create films that would counter white portrayals of African Americans, which tended to emphasize inferior stereotypes. He created complex characters of different classes. His films questioned the value system of both African American and white communities as well as caused problems with the press and state censors.[7]

:ohhh:

u destroyed your whole argument with your own evidence

there's holes in your argument

No holes at all

how did you skip over this part?

....u keep doing this. Going off topic to talk about white platforms when the topic is "self inflicted" stereotypes.

they were self inflicted because :

1)black people wrote and directed these early movies

2)Even if a script was written by a white person, you self inflicted the damage on yourself by willingly acting out/in the script

2. the second hole in your argument.

G W setchell publishing was not Black owned.

I wasn't referring to the writer/publishing company...I was referring to the singer and what he was singing

This is one reason why I feel like black people need to reclaim/re-embrace house music.

We invented that shyt in the middle of Chicago somewhere and now cacs thinks it's their's.
