The option for custom maps has pretty much disappeared due to the dlc business model no its not all micrsofts fault but they did start it
What console game had custom maps before Xbox existed :dwillhuh:

And you do realize mods and custom maps/content are available on Xbox?

One of the pillars of Halo for years has been the Forge where people create custom maps/content.

Do you even know what the fukk your are talking about breh??

Sony stans wild :wow:

Im saying before microsoft we had free user created content available. Since dlc the mindset has change and 95% of companies dont allow custom maps/server etc .

Heres an example of microsoft being microsoft Microsoft Forces Valve to Price Left 4 Dead DLC on 360

What free user content were you playing on consoles before Microsoft??

If anything Microsoft is the one who brought free user content to consoles

Heres an example of microsoft being microsoft Microsoft Forces Valve to Price Left 4 Dead DLC on 360

“We had the one DLC out for free. And I think... they have to look and say, wow, we're kind of being unfair to everybody else if these guys can do that.”

No store is gonna just let you post up products in their store for free. It devalues everything else. That’s business 101.

And has nothing to do with your previous assertion that paid dlc is Microsoft’s fault as paid DLC was already a thing. Valve was already charging for DLC for their other games. As were lots of devs on steam.

You are reaching with a bunch of nonsense here :stopitslime:

Outside of Live-style online and charging for, not much else. Depends on how much weight you have invested for that. I consider the requirement of charging for DLC to be a huge negative, especially when you look at the great offenders that is EA.

If you want breakout console firsts, then Sega takes the crown with online, VoIP, web integration, and we should all be thankful for that pioneering. On PC, you had things like MPlayer in the mid 90s that would be precursors to things like Steam. It also had wild features like matchmaking and VoIP before the end of the decade.

thats the whole point microsoft charged for a peer 2 peer service.
They conviced ya that instead of letting the community provide endless content like in the past with counter strike half life etc.. they were gonna sucker consumers into paying 15$ for map packs 20$ for character skins etc.

Regarding that other article valve wasnt charging for content because pc gamers wasnt having it. Remember when microsoft tried to charge pc gamers for xbox live and that shyt got bushed so quick, yet stans like you think its acceptable:stopitslime:

First off you weren’t paying for just P2P gaming. You were paying for a host of online and community features that were available nowhere else at the time. All features that Microsoft innovated into the industry and we all now view them as synonyms with gaming currently.

Microsoft spent lots of money to provide these features. Why wouldn’t they charge for them?

They conviced ya that instead of letting the community provide endless content like in the past with counter strike half life etc.. they were gonna sucker consumers into paying 15$ for map packs 20$ for character skins etc.
And now You all over the place and not making sense.

What does paid DLC have to do with paying for Xbox Live? :dahell:

And one more time you keep ignoring the question.

What free user content were you playing on consoles before Microsoft.

And again $15 map packs and skins existed well before the Microsoft store was a thing.

Valve were selling them just like lots of others. Half life had plenty of paid expansions.

Regarding that other article valve wasnt charging for content because pc gamers wasnt having it. Remember when microsoft tried to charge pc gamers for xbox live and that shyt got bushed so quick, yet stans like you think its acceptable:stopitslime:
This is a damn lie and you are a damn dummy. PC gamers been paying for extra content, maps, skins for long before Microsoft had anything to do with it.

:gucci:

it was on PC, and it still is
The amount of free user generated content out right now far surpass what was available back in 1999.

It sounds like dude is mad that pc arena shooters aren't as popular as they once were and is somehow blaming Microsoft for making everything more accessible on consoles.
