alot of the time it is the biggest of stars on unsung.

its about lost legacies. the thing is, darn near all black legends become disregarded over time unless theres some campaigning going on for them via the industry.

shoot, bone thugs is this season's rap episode. they sold more rap records than any group ever, and were bigger than 2pac & biggie at one point. theyre the personification of this show actually.

as far as tevin campbell goes, of course he was a mainstream star. and him dissappearing quickly like he did, is not a knock. it was so easy to fall off with the quickness back then. its not like now where you can fall off & drop trash for 10 years and still remain relevant.

I think his rise and fall are compelling though. Would like to hear that from the insiders and how felt about it. Dude was THE prodigy of the 90s and just fell off while he was putting out good material.

i always rocked with tony thompson more anyway. i was a tevin fan too, but he was a stiff.

Next year we need

Tony Toni Tone
H-Town
Jodeci
Juvenile
Naughty By Nature
fukk it, Next as well

I don't even know what old school R&B group they haven't used yet. Maybe just focus on Gamble & Huff as a production team

:what:

fukk Next, them nikkas ain't done shyt to warrant an Unsung ep.

They NEED to do Loose Ends, tired of sayin this every damn year. I even told the executive producer of the show in their chat.

?

Check the history. Not to compare them to Hi-Five or anything (but while we're on the subject, who did Tony Thompson influence?), but Next and all those late 90s R&B groups had the kind of run those early 90s groups had.

I know it's been a long time, but it's kinda crazy how huge that song actually was

all those late 90s groups like Dru Hill, Jagged Edge, 112, Next, they had a good run.

If Angela Bofill can have her own Unsung, so can Next.

If gay ass Sylvester can have its own Unsung, so can Next

CeCe Peniston had an Unsung off ONE SONG :deadmanny: It ain't a stretch to think Next had a resume to warrant an Unsung. Shiiiit it's not like I'm asking for Koffee Brown or Profyle

Great episode. I don't believe in curses but man that's a lot of shyt to happen to one group. It's also interesting when you think about how many groups there are like Hi-Five that only get a 2-3 year run and then it's over. It's also crazy how there are really no groups anymore, only solo artist.

yea. thats why i said their unsung was like watching juice.

its crazy looking at that old interview and its only one member from the core 5/6 that remained relatively unscathed, at least as far as we know.

i actually miss the 2-3 album run days. when an artist(s) starts running out of steam and they get passed up by younger/hungrier talent. that keeps the music fresh & alot of the best products at the forefront. the complete opposite of whats going on now.

but what i didnt like about those days is when groups like hi-five didnt get a chance to keep it goin' on(pun intended). thats partially their fault that they didnt get a shot at a longer run tho. but hey, the positive of all of this is that the result was great music so dudes can tour for decades. hi-five has basically turned into this generation's version of the temptations review. only 1(technically 2) original members out there(at least 13 members total) but they still gettin money.
