What do you mean NAH? I've seen yardtards who are more coordinated in the ring and have a better sense of psychology than a good majority of SHIMMER's roster. I'll give you this, though. You brought up some good points with Melissa, Madison, Jessie, and Hiroyo, but c'mon with the rest of them.
Athena: I'm going to be straight with you. I'm not going to judge wrestlers I don't know. Haven't seen Athena, so I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt.
Kana: Kana was good. Keyword 'was'. Her work right now doesn't compare to the shoot style stuff she was pulling out years back during her early days in WAVE. Even then her work got gradually worse and worse as time went on. Botches were consistent, she was constantly injuring other workers (one who comes to mind is Shu Shibutani. Girl had to miss her friend, Fuuka's retirement show because of how reckless Kana was as a worker), and she didn't make any effort to slow down. Now since she's been blackballed from a lot of places, she's mostly been phoning it in, and her stuff's been lazy with her American appearances being no different.
MsChif: ...Man, you could show me matches, go on and on breaking down everything about her that makes her "special", run the gamut, try to sell me on this bytch. Nothing you'll ever say will convince me this walking Botchamania segment is good. She's perhaps the ONLY worker Melissa's ever made look bad.
Hamada: Again, like Kana she WAS good. Nowadays? I'd say decent at best. Once she started packing the pounds, she was never the same wrestler again which is a damn shame since she used to be one of the best around the early 2000's.
Much better? Listen, you're telling me stuff I already know when it comes to the divas. I'm not going to defend them because that wasn't the point of my post. My point was they're no better or worse, and I'll even go as far as saying they're similar sometimes with how they work. The only difference is when you're watching SHIMMER, you're getting 10-15 excruciating minutes instead of the usual 3-5. As for Paige? shyt, good for her. Her being better than most doesn't make SHIMMER 'good' as I pointed out with Kong and Del Rey.
Yeah, but when you're trying to build a heel who you'd expect to feud with your top talent, I'd expect someone who's strong on the mic and in the ring which Portia is not. How is comparing her to her superior tag partner helping you with your argument? Or bringing up how bad she looks?
Not regulars, you say?
Well, damn. Sorry that I feel the need to judge women who don't respect themselves. And again, you can keep bringing up mainstream female wrestlers, but that's not going to help you since my post was never meant to defend them.
...You...you lost me here.
And you're going to judge Del Rey's ability as a wrestler based on how a bunch of perverted neckbeards reacted to her how she beat Kong?
Breh, at least she got that momentum back, and become much more interesting when she repackaged herself as that Bull Nakano throwback. fukk what a bunch of simps think. Still doesn't change the fact Sara Del Rey was above and beyond a better wrestler than half of SHIMMER.
Look above, homie. You're not going to accomplish anything by putting words in my mouth here, 'cause not once in my post did I ever say anything positive about the divas division. Like I said about Paige, if Serena and Nattie are better than most, good for fukking them, but it still doesn't change the fact that SHIMMER is a terrible promotion that tries way too hard to be 90's AJW. You're never going to recreate the same magic workers like Manami Toyota and Akira Hokuto had, and you're never going to get close to it with the women Prazak keeps booking. But that's your preference I guess.![]()
I'm all for giving girls more exposure in the ring. But you can't hold them to different standards just because they're women or because they allow you to fantasize about experiences you wouldn't have with a real woman or something (note: they, like a lot of people, think these types of fans are pathetic. Female indie wrestlers LOVE to extort shmucks like R=G). But, because they do, we get absurdities like MsChif being considered as better than really good to excellent male workers, when there are guys that could get three months training at a decent wrestling school and come out immediately better than her (or at least Act Yasukawa. I might need to slap some of the people on the SomethingAwful board for promoting her as anything close to decent...).
