No fam, you're trying way too hard to make me sound mad and my point is going way over your head.

The first problem is I'm not asking why GOD chose to use a person. I'm asking why the STUDIO chose to use that person. I don't know whether or not God chose that person and it has nothing to do with what I'm saying. I am talking strictly from a "what motivated them to capitalize on this story for monetary gain" point of view here. I'm not calling religion exploitative, you can have your beliefs fam...but a studio is clearly capitalizing on the more naive portion of Christians. You really think this was made for "feel good" reasons fam? I don't got time for people that gullible.
Right, you don't know how GOD works. While you think I'm missing the point, its you bruh
You think if GOD chooses someone, he has to check with you first :stop:
Of course you wouldn't say that, but that's how you are carrying it here.
How do you know its for a cash grab, cuz you assume that? Cuz that is the only reason movies are made?
Malcolm X the movie.. Was Spike Lee like "Yo, we bout to get paiiiiiiiiiid.. we gonna get Denzel, then its $$$"

You seem to know the origins of this picture, and its rooted in money grabbin evil :demonic:
Your reason, well.. they could have used other stories.
You gonna need a better more thorough reason than "just because" bruh

So some kid says he went to heaven and came back, they made a movie about it and claim it's based on a true story.:heh:
Are Christians even smart enough to know when they being hustled?:heh:

:upsetfavre:Google is your friend, friend. There are plenty of Christians who are skeptical if you really wanna know the answer. If not, then continue throwing shots at Christians.

Actually, with regard to the Malcolm X movie, it happened to get made at the end of a 5 year run where Malcolm's book sales increased 10-fold and when Spike went over budget, the studio was gonna shut it down in post production. Spike had to get contributions from the likes of Oprah and Bill Cosby in order to put out the movie that he had created. Otherwise, the studio would have cut an hour of footage in the name of making it more marketable...so YEAH, Spike and Denzel had good intentions but the producers were about that paper.

It's Hollywood fam...if they didn't see a potential profit, they would invest millions. If the kid's story wasn't a NYT best seller for a long time, you wouldn't have a movie coming out. That's not a "just because" argument, it's a "welcome to how the world works" argument. You can think what you want about the kid and whether or not God chose him, it doesn't matter. I'm laughing because "based on a true story" is something they use to sell horror movies and now they're applying that same gimmick to a Christian feel good concept. The Conjuring and Amityville Horror movies were real too breh.

i read this book. im not a religious person but i think the mind and soul are a mystery to us. i think that if u believe something strongly enough, it can become real to u. this kid was raised in a super religious family so he heard about heaven before. maybe his strong belief and the faith of a child (which is the strongest kind) made his soul really go to a heaven that manifested itself in his mind.

idk i dont believe it either but we dont know everything and u never know brehs.

Your problem, you take a truth from one event, then you apply that to another event to support your warped view on reality
If you had facts supporting your reasons, then show them. Otherwise, you are demonizing the movie and the reason its being made
You could do that if you knew WHY. But you don't seem to know why, you are asking why
It has you upset.. annoyed.. you don't like it.
I suggested how do you know GOD didn't want this movie out there? It couldn't hurt could it?
You seem hellbent on condemning this movie. Why you feel that way?
Cuz its centers around a 12yr old boy? Thats not a good enough starting point for you?
Its quite possible this movie will only reach one person. If that is what God intended, thats what it is

I can't figure out why you have such a beef with the story, it appears more like you have a beef with religion and you are nitpicking for reasons to hate.
How many feel good Christian movies do numbers in box office like that anyway :stopitslime:
Studies show interest in the church is at an all-time low. So you theory doesn't even sound like a good idea
If its all about money that is...

I'm not upset fam, I'm laughing...you haven't even read the book and you're this worked up about it...meanwhile Valet just put any argument that this ish isn't demonic to bed.

Relax PS4...roll your chair back from the keyboard and just breath for a minute fam...no one's that worked up about it and there are plenty of smart Christians who recognize that there are more false prophets than there are real ones and they actually read the source material too.

I used to be like these tunnel vision dudes that believe this is all there is, the beginning and the end. Then I woke up.

I'm not religious at all so miss me wit that heaven and hell shyt but I'm a spiritual dude and totally believe in eternal energy. We're all made up of this unique energy, same as all living things, same as the universe and that never stops. It only moves from one place to the next, traverses. So if you think when you die this energy simply disappears then thats some ignorant shyt right there. Whether you want to call it your spirit or soul is fine, its all energy though.

Ceasing to exist after death seems much more comforting if you ask me. Not sure why people are so afraid of that when they experience it every time they have dreamless sleep. :yeshrug:

:usure: You sure bout that?

There is no such thing as dreamless sleep breh. You just don't remember...even the smallest of thoughts pass thru your subconscious while you sleep. You are in no way in control of your subconscious which controls your thoughts and dreams while sleeping which you have every single time you sleep or nap. This is like saying you can walk through the entire day without having a single thought. Not humanly possible.

Yes, I'm highly upset storyteller (hence the name)
But you seem to be clinging to what Valet said like if he was the authority on all things unknown n shyt :umad:
I don't need someone else to validate what I'm speaking on, that currently is exclusive to you
All I have asked you politely is why you feel the way you do. You have failed every time to explain
All you have said is there are better stories. But who are you to say which story NEEDS to be told?
You not, neither am I. I don't know if the movie is real, based on real, will have a good message
Because you read a book, I guess you hated the book? Now you furious over the movie?
I don't get it. Valet's link talks about how you should be careful believing stories about ppl going to heaven
But its not uncommon for people to have so called visions of heaven. Its seeing GOD that isn't really possible
The preview trailer didn't claim he did see GOD.
So at this point, my points are still valid. While you are grateful Valet could bring more to the convo than you

God looks like Gabriel but he's enormous.
Jesus is white.
Heaven has all the colors of the rainbow and the boy walked around in it.

Valet isn't the authority necessary, his link quotes the Bible. "“No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man."

The kid never claimed to have ascended into heaven did he
It was more of an astral projection type of thing, his body didn't evaporate did it?
The one card that you can try to pull, but it won't work. Is the card of the unknown
You want me to answer questions you couldn't answer.
The Bible, God didn't write the Bible. I don't know if GOD brings people or there consciousness into heaven
I'm not gonna say no. People who actually follow the bible, they believe in things like this
Some experience things, visions, revelations, whatever.

Its only the non believers who try to twist the word of the lord around which is an easy thing to do
Just like it is easy for me to see thru you. Cuz all I have done all thread was ask you what is your issue with this story. You just deflect every time. Thats what the devil would do (or wants you to do)
A good person, or an intelligent person who is having a conversation? They would have answered that a long time ago

Im smart enough to know WHY you didnt. Cuz what I said is true. Your reasons are bogus and expressing that would make you appear weak. Why would you have to go to such tactics when its not even real is your thought process. You gotta figure that out for yourself bruh...

The kid DID in fact claim to see God.

Maybe you should have read the book before defending it fam. This has been fun though.
