US development aid is used to run large-scale health programmes on the continent. For example, Nigeria received approximately US$600 million in health assistance from the US, over 21% of the 2023 health budget.

Nigeria exports about 1.5 million barrels of oil daily. Current price of crude oil is bout USD 75 per bbl.

You do the simple maths. This is not even including crude byproducts like natural gas.

There are people EATING off the development aid that is supposed to make its way to the underprivileged.

It could be because the US held the market on it

They could do a quid pro quo in different aspects
Normally you’re correct but this is the WHO. What influence politics wise could the IS exercise over an independent organization that is merely a conduit for aid allocation?

Remember China using the WHO to cover up the spread of COVID?

Myself and my own.
I'm of two minds about this: It will cause a lot of problems for a lot of places in Africa but at the same time, this may force Africa to figure out these problems or force people to truly be angry with their leaders. The regular people are who will feel it the worse with japa syndrome rampant across many different parts of Africa.
Either ways, this will not work out the way Trump and his ilk thinks it will work out.
