It would just get baked into the bill. :francis:

As someone who has worked for tips I don't particularly find anything wrong with the practice.
I find everything wrong with the practice when it becomes a way for businesses to get out of paying a decent wage.

Tips should be outlawed imo. The burden of making sure workers are paid a decent wage shouldn't be on the customer.

Pay the workers a fair wage and have all tips go towards the restaurant, let the owners deal with rather or not a customer leaves a tip.

$5 says we’re less than 10 years out from McDonalds introducing to some vending machine sort of contraption that makes your burger for you. They’re frozen patties and standardized bun sizes, I’m sure they’ve been working on automating their workers out of a job.

McDonald’s are gonna be like those 1950s automats meets a Japanese vending machine food court.

Who are you, Mr Pink in reservoir dogs?

Here waitress, tend to a table of fourteen drunks all night and then let the owner deal with the tips.

Even in European countries, where workers are paid decent wages, tipping is still customary, just not as mandatory.

Fascism or American capitalism as its finest?

to some of these morons they don't know the difference

this is the result of free public highschool system that doesn't incentivize people to actually learn. Now you have people who get their ideas from opinion pieces on google and twitter.

some followup

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ten local Sonic Drive-In restaurants in Central Ohio are part of a major reshuffling that is putting two of the locations out-of-business and transferring eight others to new ownership and management beginning on Monday.

The move came to light after reports that employees at several restaurants walked off the job upon learning of the news. Many viewers reached out to ABC 6 / FOX 28 complaining of the shuttered stores, but self-identified employees at those locations did not return messages asking for comment.
One anonymous source close to management stated: “Circleville, Lancaster, and Grove City crews have all walked out and quit after the franchise was bought out by corporate. The regional director, two district managers and four general managers have all been let go. All of which have been working for the company in management for 7+ years.”

Thats fine with me. I hate tipping from the social aspect. Also its not an appreciation for service anymore but instead a social obligation now. I was really put off by it a couple years ago when I heard a white bytch of a waiter whine out loud about "stereotypes are true for a reason" "DO THEY THINK I WORK FOR FREE" after a black family left the restaurant. I chewed her ass out and got in on management's ass after.

There is an entitlement culture not to mention a :mjpls: aspect about it for a lot of servers that is disgusting.

I worked retail for 4 years and had customers I literally spent 2 hours with trying to buy a laptop or some shyt for minimum wage and no tip. The expectation to please and effort to do so wasn't much different than a server so I don't have sympathy. Pay them minimum wage or above and keep it moving.
