I am into Vinyl, but it's playing to an extremely niche crowd of hardcore music fans that are going to recognize first-name references to musicians from 40+ years old and enjoy sitting through musical interludes of their least mainstream B-side songs for half the show. The story isn't strong enough yet to pull in anyone else and I don't know that it will ever get there. Hopefully it does, it's got the potential, it just needs to lighten up a little bit on the "for pretentious music fans" only requirement. They shouldn't have started out there, they should've built to it gradually imo.

And $100 million :russ: Where? I can't imagine loads of baking soda and skanky clothes are that expensive. I would say maybe it went to music royalties for all the songs they play, but a lot of this stuff is really old and I would think it's in the public domain at this point. That number is insane for what I watched.

yeah but there is no money there yet, amazon and Netflix produced shyt don't have that cinematic tint at this point

Amazon has a great fukking way to get shows though. We get to see the pilots and vote on it. They're real hit or miss though.

They need to stop being lazy by working with these "brand name" directors...most of them have shytty ideas anyway when it comes to TV.

I don't know why they thought Vinyl would be a success. Looked like shyt to me from the get go. Guess they thought Empire with white people would be a can't miss.

I'm still upset about The Brink being cancelled. It was the best show that premiered last year on HBO. IMO. I got bored w ballers after 5 episodes.

HBO never keeps those type of comedies on tho. Bored to Death was genius too, but those type of shows aren't broad enough I guess.

Who would have ever thought we'd be living in a time when Hip Hop was relevant and RocknRoll wasn't? :sas2:

What a time to be alive. :ahh:
kinda sucks b/c this most definitely isn't the hayday of hip hop either. i can't believe i live in an era where people in my area (NJ/NY) listen to garbage ass country bullshyt.

i literally used to roll with my friends in the early 2000s listening to hip hop and punk and shyt and openly wonder if kids our age were cruising down south blasting some twangy "my truck, my girl, my america" dogshyt, and now i actually see that in my area.

They need to get their hands on a dope super hero show.

A Teen Titans show would probably do wonders. Maybe a Harry Potter show that stays true to the books and explains EVERYTHING.
