I remember the entire theater clapping at the end of 'Dark Knight', and no one gave a fukk about how it looked. It was nice moment of shared acknowledgement that we had just witnessed something special.
Exactly what I to post.Plenty of times and it really only happens on opening nights/weekends(which is why I try not to do it often):
How about when people clap during the movie. When I was young I went to see the fugitive, , the scene where Harrison Ford is running from TLJ , I swear practically the whole theater started cheering when he says TLJ has a gun and the cops stop him.
Screenings don't really count imo. I went to a "Top Five" screening as well and it got huge applause afterward. Avengers on opening day.
I went to a screening of 'Purple Rain' last year which essentially turned into a sing along and people applauded that too.
In the awkward pause before he starts playing the theme tune someone screams "GO ON! YOU CAN DO IT!"
I guess I go to some standing ass cinemas
All the brehs and brehettes applauded after Django while the whites were like
