Might have to change my vote to Heat in 5.

Y'all are still gonna get washed by Cleveland though, that is assuming you get past Indiana.

The heat absolutely tore up their pick n roll coverage. I think Clifford may have to let his guys fall back in the paint and not trap because so far the heat are moving the ball really well. With Whiteside rolling down the middle and a bunch of smart veteran players around it just doesn't work

Excellent analysis by Zach Lowe as usual:
"Miami knew Charlotte would send a third defender into the paint early to shove Whiteside on the pick-and-roll, and they had the guy that helper was guarding -- Dwyane Wade here on a Joe Johnson/Whiteside play -- cut across the baseline, and toward the ball:

That's a cut big man make now and then to confuse help defense assignments. You don't see perimeter players make it much, because the whole point of playing four perimeter guys is to station them around the 3-point arc -- and out of the damn way.

But Wade is almost like a big man on offense, and these little cuts flummoxed the Hornets. They triggered a kind of second rotation: Marvin Williams, guarding Luol Deng in the right corner, sees how far away Wade gets from Courtney Lee, and makes a panic-slide into the paint to cover for Lee -- leaving Deng wide open.

The irony? The Heat learned this from the Spurs; Danny Green killed them in the 2013 Finals with this same cut, to the point that the Heat, befuddled about a thing they hadn't seen or expected, nicknamed it "The Danny Green Cut." "

I know Charlotte doesnt have traditional shot blockers and their D is predicated on the mobility of their bigs (kind of like the Hawks) but they may have to move away from trapping so aggressively and just drop back on PNR. Also I'd like to see Lamb out there. Lin got shyt on by Wade. I know Miami/Deng are prob not gonna shoot this well the whole series but the heat still got w/e they wanted almost every time down.

I never trust my teams the next game after we blowout a team in a series. :leostare:
We need to get up on those fools and not give them hope. If the Heat players allow them cats to even start to feel good about themselves in the first quarter we may be in for a long night.

it worries me that the oddsmakers only got us at -4.5 again. I was expecting more after that blowout. they're expecting a close one. but fukk em though. heat in a blowout:TrollHassan:

The Hornets are a much better Defensive team than they showed in Game 1, they're going to make this a closer series than it might seem to be after the initial blowout. The Heat are legit but they're unlikely to score like that again (120+ points) given that they only averaged 100 total PPG this season and 97 PPG over 4 games against Charlotte.

All that said I need the Heat to pull through because I bet a friend who swears they're a fluke that they'd win the series.
