Good trade for OKC. Good amount of upside although I'm not expecting as much out of Martin and Lamb this season as some people expect in this thread.

I do think it makes the Thunder a little weaker in the short-term. They still have enough firepower to get to the Finals.

As for the Rockets, they've been watching too much Moneyball.

This, the Thunder are still the 2nd or 3rd best team in the division and Kevin Martin is an underrated SG, and Jeremy Lamb has more upside than James Harden, imo. Now they do sacrifice some defense, but you got a solid starter, a potential star and picks and some cap space relief in the long run. This was a good trade for both teams. If Eric Maynor stays healthy the youth on that bench is :wow:

OKC won, with Kevin Martin, dude is pretty solid all around, aside from Defense but he's not as bad a defender as people make him out to be. Harden was exposed in the finals, his time as Lamar kardashian jr is up. Plus OKC got lamb, and future picks, Houston should've have up Royce white. Smfh

James Harden boarded an airplane Sunday morning, bound for Houston. He was “devastated,” said someone who knows the Bearded One. Harden and his family both. Said Harden was stunned that the Thunder actually traded him to the Rockets. He didn’t believe the Thunder would do it. But Sam Presti told him. Presti’s lips now are sealed, but sources from both parties said that the Thunder appealed one final time to Harden on Friday. Upped its offer to $53 million over four years but told Harden if he didn’t take it, he would be traded to Houston. Presti didn’t use that as a warning. He used it as a plea. He desperately wanted to keep Harden, but this was the last best offer. And the Thunder gave Harden an hour to accept.”

:dead:

people are clearly naive and blind to the situation...5 ,6 mill is a lot of money..but over the 4 year contract its not THAT serious to leave his situation at OKC......................The REAL reason is because he is tired of being the 3rd option. He knows what his value is,has confidence, and feels like "Damn, its bad enough I'm the 3rd fukking option coming off the bench when I feel like I could be the best player on the team, but now they don't wanna cough up a "few more" bucks?" He is tight and his pride was hurt thats all

few more bucks= 30million more dollars, our cap would have been 95 million with him and that contract

yall dont watch basketball man.... harden while not worth the max, is a near max player alone. thunder r gonna miss him badly...

when westbrook is wilding, fukking games up.. and when durant has his occasional bouts of late game bytchassness, HARDEN steps up n delivers for them.

i know, im a nuggets fan. alot of times wed have kd and young sabo bottled up, and the beard would KILL us...

yea, he fukked the finals up, but he had stage fright, and apparently, was salty about mins; according 2 wojarnski..

Nah. He scores and that's pretty much it. He's been like that since Sactown.

It will be interesting to see how he fits into the Thunder attack just because of how differently he plays than Harden. People are talking about him being a 20ppg scorer but how he gets those points is a lot different than Harden.

Harden was good at pushing tempo, playmaking, and getting to the line. And yes, he's a good bit better defender than Martin.

The Thunder are banking on Lamb much more than Martin IMO.

Even with Harden gone, the Thunder will be better long-term from this deal.

It was bound to happen. No holds on to that much young talent in the modern NBA.
