He was great in the playoffs against the Spurs last year until this play:
He got concussed on this play and all his numbers fell off a cliff immediately. The play-by-play log from the series shows this and so does the video.
After this point in game 5 he started falling over limply after getting bumped, never hit another outside shot, and at one point was using Aldridge to hold himself up in the post
If he had come out at this point he wouldn’t have been able to come back in the game cause he had to shoot the free throws; so he didn’t even get looked at by the trainers.
Other teams took notice of this.
It’s the exact same play that Horford got concussed on earlier this season and ended up being held out of the next game over, but he kept playing in the game that he got concussed in without getting pulled.

The only thing that really stopped Harden was fatigue and turnovers due to fatigue and handling the rock too much. With CP3, it allows Harden to conserve energy on offense and defense allowing him to go off in the clutch. This is why Harden is having the best year he has ever had. There are no excuses for the shyt show he pulled last year against the Spurs, but I think we are in for a treat these upcoming playoffs with Harden. Or he could lay another egg.
