Han Solo: A Star Wars Story [Official Thread] (2018)

Simple fact is these Star Wars movies aren't different enough to support one every year.

Disney needs to stop being so beholden to the OT and change things up if they're gonna keep milking.

Y'all who know me know I'm one of the SW nikkanerd OGs on here.

Of the new movies I only really liked Rogue One..as for this one right here...






....It was much better than I thought it would be

It's a bit messy, but fun and tries sth new in the universe.

So far Rogue One > Solo > A New Hope remake >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It's a bit messy, but fun and tries sth new in the universe.

My ranking is similar but I would swap Last Jedi and Force Awakens around.

I could see that

Some Kathleen Kennedyisms I noticed:

- that pirate turning out to be a young girl.
- a lady robot telling a black man that she wants equal rights (@Ziggiy ).
- Qi'ra won every fight she was in, while Han/Lando/Beckett all took L's.
- Han's lucky charms being a big thing now, they were trivial in the OG movies+TFA. They came up with this shyt in TLA and now Solo went extra to legitimize their importance.
- Finn got a kiss on the forehead from Rey and a peck from Rose, but Woody was tongueing down his black lady while everyone looked on like

agreed on all those. han wasn’t even the one who took out the bad guy in the end, it had to be the chick even though it’s not even her movie.

lol wouldn’t be susprised if the whole point of this movie, aside from the obvious financial one, was so that they could establish another badass female warrior character for the franchise moving forward.

she’ll be the one to fight darth maul.

there are no classic ladies in disney star wars.

every single female is a rugged warrior and a jack of all trades type. rey is an orphan but she's also one man commando. maz kanata is a wise old lady who's 100 years old and cant see straight... but she's also a one man commando.

emilia clarke was like the first red blooded heterosexual woman they ever showed in these movies... it was actually kind of refreshing. pretty, dressed nice, made out with han... seemed to enjoy male company. but of course midway through the movie it's also revealed that she's a one man commando.

and of course the big bad scavenger pirate dude... is also a 12 year old girl

there was a scene where she had her foot on some dude's chest and they really emphasized it... these movies are so in love with female empowerment. whether you think that's a good or a bad thing i'll leave you to decide, but at this point i don't know how anyone can deny it.



edit: it actually occurred me to there were no classic ladies in the OG star wars either but that's cause there were so few lol. leia was not a "lady" in any sense.

Exactly where I'm at right now. I'm not listing those things to shyt on the movie (ok not all of them ), just stating a common thread since TFA. 4 movies in a row of this stuff.

haven't seen it yet, just have one question - is this gonna secure the fact that Emilia Clarke is fukkin awful? She's the worst actress in the world and you can't convince me otherwise. haven't heard a single peep about that character, and without bleached blonde hair she's extremely boring looking
