This show is a lot like The Cardiff Giant. It's solid and gets the job done but the creators own fear stripped it of any originality that would make it truly stand out. Each episode has some great conversations between smart adults and it's as if the writers thought, "What if someone gets bored? Quick, have somebody throw something across the room! Have the main guy set a truck on fire! Have him make out with a rich old woman's beard! Let's throw in crazy twists, change camera angles every two seconds during a conversation for no reason at all and just in case people with ADD don't like hearing about computers -- let's add some melodrama!" If they would've taken a page out of Mad Men, or The Wire and paced the show like a slow burn it would've been better. You can tell the writers are smart people who have some good ideas, but they sabotaged their own TV show by trying to cater to the lowest common denominator in every episode. I really liked the pilot(that scene when IBM's lawyers show up is one of my favorites from this year) and the season was okay but it could've been a LOT better IMHO.
