"it wasn't an affair...but it should have been"
EVERYONE took a big L on this episode. It was a massacre
apple is already where cameron wanted to take the giant, so that means cameron is the only one with real vision, gordon and his wife are just good at solving engineering problems, and joe is merely a really good salesman. the team needs a new member who is good at management so they can stick to a vision and not waiver so much, but something tells me joe would end up blowing such a team up. the only person who would have the power to rein joe in would be bosworth but he's out here catching fed cases so it's a toss up if he will stay out of prison and be able to rejoin these crazy fools and get them some structure.
Breh as SOON as she started telling ol boy from the job about how she came up with the idea of folding the chipset onto itself to create more room and allow for more efficiency I was like "aint these company secrets that people could get sued for leaking?"
Everyone got that work in the worst way...
@Asantehene
I think the mac unveiling is basically a classic "shyt just got real" moment. A "windows" based UI with a color screen and speaking OS far more advanced than Camerons. Its what Joe and Cameron knew all along, you don't beat IBM by being better than them. You beat IBM by being different
Also its as if to say to Joe "just incase you didn't know you're up against giants...here's us shytting on you without even knowing who you are"
good takes on the situation. Yall remember when Donna and the Texas Instruments guy travelled on business and were in the ballroom where Donna got to playing the Piano? I remember Donna using that Susan Fairchild name and the dude saying that name sounded familiar Some low key foreshadowing.apple is already where cameron wanted to take the giant, so that means cameron is the only one with real vision, gordon and his wife are just good at solving engineering problems, and joe is merely a really good salesman. the team needs a new member who is good at management so they can stick to a vision and not waiver so much, but something tells me joe would end up blowing such a team up. the only person who would have the power to rein joe in would be bosworth but he's out here catching fed cases so it's a toss up if he will stay out of prison and be able to rejoin these crazy fools and get them some structure.
it's interesting that they forgot they still have a pending legal situation with IBM. cameron's OS is so unique that it probably would protect them from the accusation that their computer is simple theft. the stripped down version they offered at the show is a lot closer to something that will get sued into oblivion (just my layman's observation of the legal issue)
in the second season cameron needs to leave them for xerox or negotiate a new role as an equal member with the ability to tell gordon to fall back. that will be easier with bosworth since he took her under his wing. it's ironic that he was the least tech savvy, but he was the one who had the most accurate appraisal of her value to the group.
more, cameron was playing centipede when they found her in the arcade, centipede was programmed by the only woman at atari, her name was donna and she quit the company around the time this show takes place.good takes on the situation. etc etc
what yall make of that Macitosh part
I'm guessing that essentially the Apple idea match's Cardiff and Joe feels the pain because he didnt take that risk of using Cameron's system.
It's only the first season too brehs...lets see whats good
yea they really had no choice at the moment but to strip the OS in time for the demo. Keep the firm alive, sustain revenue streams and capital and then look into R&D with Cameron's idea among others in the archive for future refi think he was thinking back to that convo he had with donnas old boss about not creating anything and that ether started burning.
its probably a blessing in disguise tho because that mac would shyt on cameron's OS anyways
