Was anybody else heavy in Halo 2 multiplayer back in 04-06? Maaaan I was in high school and I was addicted to online play. The matchmaking system was beautiful. The maps were beautiful. The weaponry The Battle Rifle MLG matches. Wrecking through squads with your team.

The Lockout Map

Those Big Team Battles capture the flag matches.

I remember the highest level I think I managed to rank to was a 27. I remember playing against dudes who were level 50s and getting demolished.

I used to watch those Halo 2 montages all the time tryna pick up skills from the heavy hittas. Such a fun time in my life.

Bungie still got the gamertag profiles up from back then. I found my match history.
7018 matches played. 20359 kills. 19640 deaths 5837 assisted kills.

I've never had that much fun in a 2 year span on any online multiplayer game. Gears of War was okay but didn't compel me like Halo 2 did. It really revolutionized online multiplayer.

Couple things.. Halo MCC is up and live so you can relive all of that right now with updated 1080p/60fps graphics
Halo 5 has upped the ante so much that this thread is

Man I remember the super jump on the Zanzibar and Ascension maps. Them no scope only sniper battles. We used to run them no shield pistol battles on Ivory Tower too. Shotgun battles in Warlock. Sword only battles on Midship. Me and my boys had the communication down pat like a real army team. "Yo we got one coming up the elbow with no shields take em out"..... "I have secured big jane" (nickname for Rockets). "we got a mans atop red base with long neck charlie (name for sniper rifle)

All that nerd terminology was birthed on Halo 2. L33T, N00B, etc

i fukking sucked at multiplayer. i remember going to weekend sessions just to eat free food and beer cuz i couldn't hold my own for shyt. best memory i got out of that was smashing an asian (idk if she was filipino, vietnamese or thai) broad whose boyfriend brought her over to watch him play. breh ignored her the whole night, and she was sitting all alone in the corner. made my move and was in her twice that night. i would've traded that night to be good at that game instead of feeling like the last kid picked on the playground when it came to halo 2 mp

nikkas had callouts ready for every map. Timing for camo, overshield, rockets, sword, sniper rifles, shotgun...everything.
