They really didntHow did they teach world war 2
Who cares. Holocaust ain't American or black history
I cant even tell you what country the camps were in.
Why would anyone care.
Who cares
Fukking nerds man, trying call people dumb because they are not aware of some random ass shyt that happened in the 1930s/40s. Most Americans know what the holocaust is, but trying to shyt on them for not knowing holocaust concentration camps is beyond ridiculous.
Most Americans can't name the governor of every state ethier, who gives a fukk?
this reminded me of a documentary i saw that was interviewing officials and village elders in afghanistan. they had no idea what 9/11 was, what planes were, that america had invaded (as opposed to the soviets having never left), or even what america was. they were showing one of the elders pics of the twin towers and he was like "damn, they had buildings like that in kabul?"Go overseas and to other countries and see if they can name what buildings were hit by the planes on 9/11.
no wonder ur so ornery, ur coli experience is suffering only 15 posts per page like a peasant guestBut that being the case, this thread really shouldn't be 9 pages long.
whenever I see those geography tiktoks, the non Americans always do betterDo you honestly think this would only be exclusive to America?
Nobody was asking for this. The truth is that people only seek to have knowledge of the things they care about, picking and choosing which information is important to them to keep in their memory.
Outside of racists, Neo-Nazis, and Hitler sympathizers, I would assume that the average American doesn't care about Nazi Germany that much to have immediate knowledge of concentration camps and let alone the people running the camps, notable officers of Hitler's army personnel, and notable medical/research staff members personnel during his reign.
They never went into details about the names in any of my history classes
Seems like a more specific area of study really. I've read one book from a holocaust survivor and I don’t remember anything other than auschwitz.American schools for the average citizen aren’t that great compared to other developed countries. Because investing in people is antithetical to shareholders getting record profits every quarter.
Because in our system beneficial to educate people to be useful idiots. Average Americans have a proverbial doctorate when it comes to entertaining frivolity. Knowing the world around you tho? Nah that’s some dork shyt, bro that don’t get you to a bag.
I mean shyt, Auschwitz is better than nothing.Seems like a more specific area of study really. I've read one book from a holocaust survivor and I don’t remember anything other than auschwitz.
I disagree. Nothing in white history is necessary for me to know. It’s important to know history tho, we can’t get mad at non-Black groups for not knowing our struggle but do the same in kind. Leave the savagery for the cacs they’re experts. Besides, given how we’ve been collectively oppressed over the centuries it’s important to have knowledge on other systems of oppression so they can’t someday be implemented on you.
Not understanding the interwar period and the rise of fascism is how Trump and his cronies are in Washington right now. If more people knew this history then so many people wouldn’t have been duped by incredibly obvious signs of a shift to fascism.
I disagree. Nothing in white history is necessary for me to know.
Id rather learn more about Africa or even other Asian/ South American countries and their issues before white history.
