She's right, but of course people are gonna listen to this white girl Hayley say this shyt rather than a Janelle Monae or something. People only listen when it comes from a white person's mouf.

Imperialism at it's finest...

Im not playing stupid. Nobody can act "Black", "White", or "Latino", etc. The terminology people are using is illogical.. Besides her erratic behavior and her trying to associate herself with more Black folk, how is she trying to be "Black"? I just saw the link you have posted and it looks like she is trying to identify with more of a Black crowd and she is trying to make her music "sound Black" (to have more Black audience) in the process. Little does she know she is being ignorant and stupid.

But you guys could still reach on that "being black bs".

:snoop:

so basically you're arguing a completely worthless distinction of semantics :heh:

She is just trying to associate/identify herself with a Black crowd/elements she think is "Black culture". Association and literally her trying to be something she is not are two different things

When someone says some is "acting black" they mean EXACTLY the first thing you're saying...not a soul on earth thinks Miley Cyrus is LITERALLY trying to transform herself into a black woman...no one thinks that Miley Cyrus believes herself to be a fukking wizard with magical powers that grant her the ability to alter her genetics or that she's suffering from a legitimate psychotic delusion...that's kind of the entire point... she's making a conscious and plainly stated effort to co opt elements of American black youth culture, as if she's playing dress up or wearing a costume... as part of an obvious concerted effort on her part to change her image and further her music career..eventually after she grows tired of the novelty of it all, we all know it's gonna get thrown in the bushes

What fanbase? This isn't Hannah Montana, the Disney creation they are co-signing. They are co-signing a Miley Cyrus whose last album bricked and was bigger as Hannah Montana than she is by being Miley Cyrus. Artists and producers are jumping on the Miley bandwagon for the same reasons she's on their's:

1) They see her as an easy outlet to crossover (producers who haven't had that crossover hit yet)

2) They see her as challenge. If they aid her in being successful, it strengthens their resume.

On the flipside, she benefits from being legitimized by Hip Hop as it's still a dominant influence. It's no different than what Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera did. They just weren't on stage making a fool out of themselves.

It is different from all of them, cause none of the people listed... just straight up jumped head first into a culture they didn't really belong to and made every attempt to be down.

she's downright slumming, and people want to make excuses for it or just act like the shyt isn't happening.

Miley has exposed something white girls in her age group do behind closed doors.

Funny how people forget the movie footloose(back in1984) was based off something that happen in Elmore City, Oklahoma where dancing was banned for a 100yrs, and the teens would sneak off wild out in other towns.

All across america, a good number white girls been doing this, who does Flo-rida, T-pain, and Pitbull cater too, find any club that places those 3 artist regulary.

I guarantee you would find girls dressed and built like WWe's Kaitlyn when she found out her secret admirer was(see video)

Bussing it wide open to the music, Miley is tamed. White american society never have a problem when others do it, but when their biggest fears come out in the open its a problem. Jamie warned them.

What Haley Williams said was far more specific and accurate than ''stealin black culture'' and you know it @LegendNas

You derailed the topic from a legitimate discussion and reduced it to an arguement over semantics :comeon:

pop question; who hates wiggers more blacks or whites:lolbron: ?

Paul Wall. JFN the fonky white nikka, Riff Raff, Eminem, Lil wyte, all had more African American friends they did white at one point in time, yeah they got picked on coming up as they grew older, their hood/area accepted them more and more.

Bet you never notice, alot of whites who get instituionalized in state pen's, end up acting more ******ish when they come out than they did going in.

That's what people are missing about the message, she slid in a subliminal diss to Blacks and Black women more specifically. It's almost tantamount to white people accusing Black people of using the word ****** as if we invented it. This just comes across as another false "culture indictment"

Here's a news flash for everyone: White people are ratchet also, white women shake their asses too. They are strippers and hookers and dancers, dope fiends and porn stars. Madonna was rolling around on the ground in garters and shyt back in the 80's, it was provocative, but no one was attaching it to Black culture. Brittany Spears was gyrating and convulsing all around with Black people on stage and no one referred to them as accessories.
So did you not feel anything when you saw Miley on stage with her rent-a-negroes ?

The artists I listed have been accused of the very same thing Miley's doing. When Christina Aguilera came out with "Dirrty" she caught the same criticisms that Miley is catching. Remember Redman was called out by Nas for "selling out" for even being on the record.

In regard to a culture they didn't really belong to, why is credibility being given to Haley's comments when she doesn't belong to the culture either. This isn't directed at you, but more so people co-signing her statements. This thread has more views than the one where Tariq is saying she's using Hip Hop culture which is far more accurate. The Coli is being very hypocritical and contradictory with this thread. The same people that claim CACs shouldn't be speaking on a culture they know nothing about is in here co-signing Haley left and right. The same people that will :pacspit: at a Rollingstone review because they hold no merit because they "have no knowledge of the culture" are co-signing Haley for doing the same thing. The difference is Rollingstone just does reviews, Haley is speaking on Black culture. It's a very inaccurate assessment to relate what Miley did with Black culture.
