Jovenel Moïse says His Resignation Would Descend Haiti into Chaos

In an interview Monday morning, the embattled president, Jovenel Moïse, ruled out any possibility of resigning as an overwhelming majority of Haitians are demanding.

Speaking with journalists from Radio Metropole, the Head of State justified this position by saying there is a need to avoid chaos. With 7 straight weeks of protests for his resignation, schools and businesses unable to operate, the comment was received with ridicule amoung the Haitian populous.

Mr. Moïse spoke of gangs rising in the case of a vacancy of the executive as if there were no protocols for a replacement in the event, described in the Constitution and in the opposition coalition's plans for transition

Haiti: U.S. Again Provokes Violence, Gridlock with its 'Racist Behavior'

Only 3 days after Haitians, by wide general consensus, told the U.S. Embassy to 'butt out' of the internal affairs of the country, the diplomatic mission, led by Ambassador Michele Sison, released a Friday-dumped press note highly cryptic considering the circumstance in the country. It was the latest in a series of divisive interferences by the U.S. Embassy into Haiti's internal politics and it is regarded as among the 'racists behaviors' Haitians do not welcome.

Notwithstanding the days of time and effort on various news programs that Haitians have spent trying to decipher the meaning of the embassy note, it has again been received as interference and decried. No other diplomatic mission in Haiti engages in this way.

The international press will miss to mention the repeated meddling and violations to the Vienna Convention by the U.S. Embassy in Haiti in their news articles although it is not a mystery among any Haitian, in Haiti or abroad, of the U.S. provocation of the crisis and violence.

It was the U.S.-led group of diplomats in Haiti, that call themselves the Core Group, that 7 weeks ago interjected themselves into meetings with opposition leaders, and brought a president in hiding and possibly ready to resign, out into the public and emboldened by U.S. support.

It is a "racist behavior" the manner in which the U.S. Embassy and a small faction of diplomats in the country meddle in the people's affairs, said Senator Nenel Cassy (Fanmi Lavalas - Nippes). If they had any respect for the Haitian people they would leave the territory and not return until the crisis was resolved. Their continued presence and interference delay resolution.
