ur not gonna be benching 225 or anything like that out the gate ok bruh, :stopitslime:but should at least be able to bench press close to your body weight after of year of consistent training, but honestly probably less than that
how much does your cousin weight? 165 pounds aint it:francis: am 200 pounds and i bench that easily(ten reps ) and that is for someone who does mostly push ups and dumbbell type presses most of his gym life:yeshrug: so dont give up, work on the support muscles , shoulders, triceps and even back to gradually get stronger

220lb / 100kg

Not that lifting 80kg or 90kg isn't impressive. Most men can't do that. But when you get to repping 100kg, you've arrived imo. Everything above is great work. I say 100kg because most gym brehs need to lift for some time before being able to do that. I've seen men go from straight pushups to benching 80kg. Never 100kg.

100kg bench
140kg squat
180kg deadlift

The lower benchmark. Entry level gym breh with stripes.

120kg bench
170kg squat
220kg deadlift

Higher benchmark imo.

Let's flip this. I'm looking to build my own gym at home, which is a smart move since covid 19.
How much can a 6 ft 0, 178lbs person lift safely unassisted, just solo dolo lifting:patrice:because If you lift too heavy and you drop the weight on your chest then that's your ass

Depends on what you want your body to look like.

I went OD heavy on lifting weights in my 20s; now, in my 30s, aesthetically, i regret that shyt.

Can't just say this and walk away chief :francis:
Wym by aesthetically you regret it?

Let's say a natty who's been working out consistently for a year.
My cousin brags all day about benching 75kg, I wanna tell him to STFU but since I'm :flabbynsick:
I let him cook

the only goal is to progressively overload the muscles while maintaining proper form

the numbers don’t matter. A lot of people putting up big numbers with horrible form and injuring themselves

Its bodyweight or anything post 200lb if you're under 200lb.

A 145lb guy benching 200lb is amazing.

A 315lb guy benching 220lb is pathetic.

I was gonna ask a question like this. How old are you now? I should be able to hit 180-225 in 6 months at age 26-27 right? I know it’s not 19 but it’s peak physical manhood capacity and capabilities. I just wanna how fast I can put on some mass :patrice:

It depends on your diet and weight training regime. As a rookie, your main focus should be compound lifts 3 times a week (squats, deadlifts, military presses and bench presses) and eating a shyt ton of food (6 meals a day) while drinking about a gallon of water a day. That is the quickest way you're gonna build solid mass while your body is getting used to lifting metal. In 6 months you should be able to bench over 220lbs at your age provided you do everything right and not try to copy that jacked guy in your gym who has had years of experience and moved past a rookie's routine.

Thats another mistake new guys make. They look at the biggest dude and thinking his current routine is what got him to look the way he does and fail to understand that he has experimented with all sorts of programs and that his current routine is likely just for maintenance and not muscle building. A rookie will just copy him and be surprised why he hasnt gained a single pound in 6 months time, and then eventually quit and accuse everyone for taking steroids.

After 6 months the gain rate eventually leveled off and I had to putting in more work and find other smart ways to keep it fun. My favourite was the German Volume Training program which I would employ every other 12 weeks of training. Rest was also very important. After every 12 weeks of non-stop training I would rest for a full week and not touch weights at all. This continued for another 3 years where I ended up reaching a peak body weight of 235lbs.......then I stopped for good.

I havent lifted in 6 years now, basically a couch potatoe and these days I weight about 185lbs. Hoes still give me the :ehh: look when I take my shirt off. I have been able to maintain a nice slim build without weights simply because I still have though clean eating habits I picked during my gym days and I drink lots of water.
