EA sportcenter made minor noise, but nothing real. Only Gucci Stans in certain circles knew about his so called buzz in 08. Jeezy on the hand was one of te biggest stars in music period.

Sorry but ive never seen a credible music fan, certified dude ever say that Gucci has anything classic at all. And I've never heard them say that he's better than Jeezy either. The only reason one would even compare them is cause they beefed. Or cause Guci was considered a wack Jeezy clone when he came out.
Jeezy is with Tip, Gucci on the other hand is more with Lil scrappy and that meet me at the trap dude with much better production and more songs.

The movie dropped in 4th quarter, that was the first tape that actually caught real buzz from Gucci and in 09 it was Burrprint 3d, The cold war series, the movie part 2 are you kidding me? 2009 was the year that Gucci caught heavy buzz. In 08 no one gave a fukk about him, people were bumping Jeezy, Nas, Wayne, T.I, Game, Luda and shyt it was year filled with star releases Scaraface last album. shyt he wasn't nearly touching Webbie, Boosie or Plies either in 08. And I'm not even gonna mention dudes like Kanye, Cudi and all those dudes.
And no I've got a bit too much brains and a bit too much money to live in a fukking hood. But I stay connected with cats and know what the fukk is going on.

Gucci and Jeezy get compared because they come from the exact same sub-genre/movement/regional scene in rap...you're very obviously not an actual fan of that rap scene, but just a very big Jeezy fanatic and thus fall very squarely into category 2...so your stance is understood...but Gucci being better than Jeezy has been popular opinion among people that actually now that they're talking about since Gucci took over the ATL trap rap scene way back in '06, '07...don't know what you're considering "credible music fans", but I'm assuming you mean dikkriding ass critics or bloggers or something...Gucci never permeated on a mainstream level like that, and don't have songs with Jay-Z and shyt...so there's a perception difference by outsiders...but it's whatever...on even just a technical rap nerd level, Gucci is just flat out better than jeezy
