Claiming Gucci was killing the streets in 06 is like claiming Freddie Gibbs is killing the streets right now. The fact that he had dope tapes in 08 is different from him being relevant. The clubs were not playing him, his mixtapes were not downloaded, he had a small circle of followers compared to 09 where it probably grew by 10000%. In the end of 08 was when he started buzzing, lol @ taking over ATL rap scene. in 06/07, that was when he became known to anyone at all beyond being the guy who Jeezy allegedly sent someone to have him got and in fired back and offed a dude.


They don't come from the same sub-genre, Gucci comes from Jeezys genre.

I don't really care what's good in the streets in 2012, I did when I was younger.

1. Every rapper who isn't buzzing on the internet in 2012 is not buzzing, it's not 05 anymore.
2. I think it's extremely corny to be on the internet and preach street shyt, it's like being at micky ds preaching a healthy lifestyle.

That's the damn truth, no Streets iz watchin, no TM101, no TOD and I can guarantee that none of these dudes would be sounding like they sound. He created a lane for these dudes to eat. And other like Master P, Trick Daddy and even Tip created a lane for Jeezy. Just like Waka Flocka with a big help from boss created a lane/sub-genre for a lot of dudes out today shyt made it's way all the way up to the top. And Gucci too, when he got really comfy in his own style (which is nothing like Jeezys) he inspired a whole lot of new rappers as well but that wasn't until 09 imo.
