I'm using apple today because it's what I had...but yeah, cherry is dope..

Kingsford charcoal has a LOT of natural flavor. I mean it smells/tastes great but DAMN!
Is there a charcoal that has a more neutral flavor? Or would I have to switch to a propane grill for that?

Have you tried lump charcoal? I've used it before but we just use regular Kingsford most of the time anymore...we make sure to keep hot/cool sections on the grill which helps control things too.

So with the ML yesterday, I had it in the smoker for about an hour, then we had to drive to the inlaws where I cooked them both in the oven.

Here's the bacon smoked one coming out of the smoker but not done. I was too busy with other stuff to get finished pics of them both but we put them under the broiler for the last few minutes to crisp up a little..

I think I'm about to join grill gang. I have a gas grill from a couple years back but it sits in my shed because I'm paranoid af. Any suggestions on what kind of charcoal grill to purchase for a beginner? I'm def getting the chimney and want to try lump.
