Fired it up for the White mans Independence Day. First time grilling in close to 6 years and it felt great, forgot how much I missed Q’ing :mjcry:

I have a campmaid convertible grill on the way, bought a little table top $16 joint to get me by. I won’t be investing in a real grill until we move into our next house and I build out my outdoor kitchen.

For chicken touch your thumb to your pinky finger and the meat under your thumb should be how firm that chicken is to be done, for burgers just make sure the juice runs clear unless someone wants well done

My nikka. I kinda felt that way about the burgers. Saw it bleeding red and chilled until I didn't see red. How do I keep the shyt from falling apart? Like the first 2 were just like fukk it and broke. The last 5 pretty much chilled and stayed together. I thought adding egg as a binding agent would be good but that shyt didn't work for the most part.

How do I stop it from breaking? Might do ground turkey next

Do yall use the charcoal that needs the lighter fluid or the one where you just gotta add the fire? Where do you light it? I did the top first but I feel like I should have did the sides first. I didn't want to catch on fire or blow myself up with the lighter and just holding it on the charcoal. Be easy I'm a rookie

I wish I saw this last weekend

I did stumble on a good way of making goat and lamb on the grill

1. Marinate overnight
2. Wrap the pieces of goat/lamb in some foil
3. Place the wrapped pieces on the grill, set to medium heat, turn occasionally. This will allow the meat to cook in its own juice
4. Take the pieces off and unwrap
5. Place the meat back on the grill for 15 minutes and turn occasionally, until the meat browns sufficiently
6. Take off and let it sit for a bit then you good to go

get a chimney starter. I wasted 20 yrs bbq’ing without one, that shyt changed the game.

For lighting it without a chimney I always laid a long ass sheet of paper towel down then dumped the charcoal on that, hit it with fluid then lit the paper

A chimney starter is a must have. No more dealing with lighter fluid, and it's easier to dump your coals exactly where you want them!
Walmart usually has them if you want to cop.

Do not use egg in your burgers. That is not burger that is a Salisbury steak patty.

I thought that in the back of my mind. Like I'm not making meatloaf as far as using egg :russ:

I've never actually seen how lighter fluid is applied or applied just always around since I was a kid. I:mjlol:
