Everyone should take the time to learn how to properly grill some pork. It takes a while to cook but the finished product is worth it. I have my ribs and pulled pork down to a science now. If you are going to try ribs look into the 3-2-1 method for the best results. Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

I have a digital kitchen thermometer and before I got a new weber with the gauge I was just waitin for meats to get the right temp but it was taking a lot longer to cook because I couldn't monitor when the grill temp dropped and I spent extra time opening the top and poking the meat, letting the heat escape. A big portion was I had a shyt digital thermometer that took its time to read. With this one you set it and forget it

Even though it wasnt much, buying a digital thermometer was one of the best investments i made.

Looks dope, could you elaborate on the method or put some instructions into this thread?

Gonna bust out the grill next weekend, got the 22" Weber unit, same as the pic only its green instead of blue. Charcoal and wood chips got the burgers, chicken, and greens tasting so damn good.

Coal is the only way to go. Gotta have a chimney starter too

Another thing if you're gonna be smoking, you wanna at least add some wood. Coal is great for grilling or cooking meats directly on top of the heat, but when you're smoking or indirect cooking, you want the smoke to come from wood. I use a mix of Apple and hickory. I still use coal as a heat base, but I add some wood chunks for the flavor. You can get these at Home Depot or Lowes. And you don't want thick white smoke, that'll make whatever you're cooking taste bitter, you want thin slightly bluish smoke

Im still trying to perfect my smoke game. Some people say to soak the wood first. Some say not to. The last time I smoked chicken it came out good tho but coulda been better. I think I didn't use enough coal as my heat base

Don't soak the wood. It cools the fire and makes for bad smoke. What flavor wood are you using? Some are stronger than others.

Here's a pretty good link which goes over different wood and other useful info http://amazingribs.com/tips_and_technique/zen_of_wood.html
